The BOM is configurable and can be exported to CSV and HTML formats and to applications such as Microsoft Excel..

Select the components and assemblies to position and then select the geometric feature to use as the mating point, such as the center of a circular arc. ● Define components, assemblies, or groups to position.● Define the assemble operation as mate (position and orientation), orient (orientation

only), or locate (position only).● Preview the positioning operation prior to committing the change.● Provide simple post-alignment offset for position and orientation.● Carry into Windchill the positional updates, when running Creo Elements/View with

PDMLink. ● Use the existing CSYS created in Creo Elements/View or published from the CAD tool,

Creo Elements/View MCAD Professional extends the existing Group concept to include dynamically self-populating groups. Previously, you manually maintained the contents of a group. Now the Group concept is extended to incorporate powerful query capabilities. You can define groups that will self populate on the basis of either spatial information or metadata. For example, you can define a group that comprises all components with the metadata field Material set to the value Steel. The group dynamicallly self populates if the design changes or is used with a different configuration of the design.

The direct use of Groups in different contexts is also available. When selecting groups you see the contents of the group highlighted.

The interference capabilities provided by Creo Elements/View are also used as a key component in the automated Interference Management Services, an optional module for Windchill PDMLink 10.0.

Improvements to navigation and interaction are listed below:

● Navigate up and down the assembly structure directly from within the 3D model view using keyboard shortcuts. All components are highlighted at each level of the hierarchy so you can see which components are in each subassembly in the product structure.

● Select an assembly node, such as a node that has child components, or select assemblies in the product structure view. All of the parts and subassemblies in that structure are highlighted.

● Use the interactive manipulator in the 3D model view on assemblies. The manipulator shows the displacement of the translation and rotation in the graphics view for precise positioning. You can directly enter numeric values for rotation and orientation while using the manipulator. The quantisation of translation and rotation values according to preference values is available using control keys.

● Select identical instanced components such as select all bolts like this one. Using new keyboard shortcuts you can select all similar components in the same part or assembly or select all similar components in the 3D model.

● Specify the manipulation of 3D components around a coordinate system (CSYS) to define axes of rotation and translation.

● Navigate in the 3D model view, and spin and pan the 3D model without the model disappearing from view. This automatic swipe mode enhances the navigation around large and complex models.
