Cranberries was the creation of Steven Littley, Steven is formerly from Camberley in Surrey and owned a very successful logistic company before his dream of living an idyllic country life in Devon. The idea was initially to offer two self-catering cottages but this project progressed and the idea grew into what Cranberries has become today, with the dedication and hard work of our loyal staff.

We currently have seven 18th century stone barns that are self-catering accommodation, in addition to these we have 9 guest bedrooms. This accommodation includes a Honeymoon Suite, Family suite and a mix of king and twin bedrooms. We also have a conference centre, restaurant bar and Elemis spa.
The seven barns range from a luxury one bedroom studio to lavish six bedroom residences, each one is individually designed and furnished to ensure comfort and convenience.
All of our accommodation has been renovated using recycled materials and traditional building methods; promoting greener methods, as well as maintaining the originally beauty and character of the old stone barns.
The accommodation is available for rent as self-catering holidays, wedding weekends, pampering breaks, group holidays, family getaways, or for private corporate accommodation and activities all year round.
Cranberries’ Hideaway Spa allows you to indulge in a range of treatments and facilities, to include face and body therapy by the leading luxury British spa and skincare brand Elemis.
Cranberries luxury hideaway is situated at Hills Farm on the Devon/Dorset border in the quiet village of Kilmington. Dating back to 1251 when the original Hills Farm was built, Cranberries boasts a stunning location atop a hill on the Jurassic coastline in an area of outstanding natural beauty, from which you have stunning coastal views.
The Wagon Shed is a 6 bedroom, 18th century, stone barn accommodating up to 16 guests. With spectacular views across the Axe Valley, the Wagon Shed is open-plan and features a large dining area with a fully fitted kitchen with Aga that makes this property perfect for groups and families. The ground floor features porcelain tiled floors with underfloor heating, a relaxing lounge area with ample sofa seating, iPod docking station, a large LCD TV and wi-fi throughout. There is a hot tub at the rear of the property along with picnic benches and seating area. The Wagon Shed has its very own large garden area to use for outdoor games and to relax. This barn is wheelchair accessible.
THE WAGON SHED
The Milking Parlour sleeps up to 16, in six bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. The open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen are extremely spacious with panoramic views over the Axe Valley. Ground floor space is tiled with underfloor heating, this keeps you cool in summer and toasty in winter. There is a small garden area complete with a hot tub, to use to relax and maybe BBQ. The kitchen is fully equipped to cater for large groups, with two ovens and a large fridge/freezer. The dining table seats 16 and the lounge is very relaxing, with large, comfy sofas, LCD flat screen TV, iPod docking station and free wi-fi.
THE MILkING PARLOuR
The Dairy is a two floor cottage conversion, consisting of a ground floor double bedroom and a first floor twin-bedded room on a mezzanine floor. With tasteful furnishing and character features, it’s the perfect holiday home for a family of four or two couples. This cottage is completely self-contained with an open-plan living area and a fully fitted kitchen. The living area has an attractive inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, a large LCD TV, an iPod docking station and free wifi. The Dairy has a family bathroom with stone tiled floor, bath and shower.
On the ground floor of the stable block dating back to 1750, The Stables has been modernised to accommodate up to six people in two bedrooms. The under-floor heating is just another touch of luxury and keeps the toes toasty in winter, whilst the porcelain floor tiles keep the rooms cool on those wonderful summer days. The living area is open plan and can comfortably accommodate a group of six. Situated in the living area is the dining table and chairs suitable for up to 6. The living area is equipped with two sofas, LCD TV, iPod docking station and free wi-fi.
The Tack Room is located on the ground floor, underneath the Saddlery. This one bedroom suite is perfect for guests enjoying a romantic escape or on a last minute getaway to the country. This barn benefits from under-floor heating and porcelain tiled floor, this keeps The Tack Room cosy during the winter months and cool during the summer. Original Stone walls retain the character of the building, whilst modern facilities are used throughout. The Tack Room is an open-plan living space, equipped with LCD TV and an iPod docking station along with free wi-fi. The bedroom has a king-size bed and the en-suite shower room is equipped with a luxurious multi-jet shower cubicle.
The Saddlery is a one-bedroom suite, perfect for couples. Its vaulted ceilings make the accommodation exceptionally spacious, light and airy. The Saddlery has a modern feel, whilst still retaining the character of the original barn with its beams and stone walls. The open plan living space is equipped with LCD TV and iPod docking station along with free wi-fi. The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped, the bedroom area has a king-size bed and the ensuite bathroom has a separate bath and shower cubicle.
The Hayloft is on the upper level of a barn and is accessed by steps. The vaulted ceilings make the accommodation in The Hayloft airy, light and a firm favourite with guests. With tasteful furnishing, character features, two large bedrooms and ensuite shower rooms, the Hayloft is ideal for two couples or a family of four. The Hayloft has a uniquely modern feel whilst retaining many features of the original building. The open-plan living space, is equipped with LCD TV and iPod docking station along with free wi-fi. The kitchen is fully equipped.
This luxurious hotel suite is located on the first floor and accessed via external stairs. Perfect for a family of four to getaway or a romantic break for two. It features at one end an in-room bath with separate toilet and sink. This area is also home to a king size bed. The other end of this suite has a single day bed and a single sofa bed. There is a further en-suite with a large shower cubicle, toilet and sink. The sofa area has an LCD TV so can also be used as a lounge area. The accommodation also comes with a coffee machine, fridge free wi-fi.
This luxurious hotel suite is located on the first floor accessed by external steps. Perfect for honeymooners or a romantic escape, it has an in-room slipper bath and king size bed. A large en-suite bathroom completes this sumptuous suite with his and hers sinks and huge shower big enough for two. The chaise lounge adds a touch of glamour to the seating and dressing area.
The room comes complete with a coffee machine, fridge, LCD TV and free wi-fi.
These luxurious twin bedded rooms are perfect for a quick escape with friends or business traveller. We have two twin bedded rooms, one on the first floor accessed by external steps, the other on the ground floor. Both have en-suite facilities with showers. Bird boxes have been placed around all the cottages, plants, flowers and shrubs to encourage the natural ecocycle of growth and wildlife survival.

FLY FISHINGFly fishing along our 1-mile stretch of the Axe River is permitted free of charge, however it is on a “put back” basis. As we are located in an area of Outstanding Beauty, beside the Jurassic Coastline, we recognise the importance of maintaining our traditional country environment but also the importance of infusing modern technologies to ensure this area with sustainability for future generations.
Throughout our luxury hideaway we use green energy which keeps our first class environmental credentials.
ECo HEATINGHeating & hot water is delivered by eco-friendly ground/air source heat pumps whilst a start of the art biomass boiler system supplies hot water and heating to the spa and restaurant. The electricity is supplied via a state of the art solar energy plan.
WATERThe farm’s own spring provides the water supply to all the taps and even flushes the loo’s. All our cottages are cleaned using eco-friendly materials and cleaning products.

GUESTS WITH DISABILITIESThe Wagon Shed has a wheelchair accessible bedroom on the ground floor with en-suite wet room. The Stables is also wheelchair accessible with a ramp to the entrance and en-suite shower. Both properties have en-suite bathrooms that are suitable for someone requiring assistance.
There is a wheelchair ramp to the conference centre which has a disabled accessible toilet. There are some areas where a gravel drive may make wheelchair accessibility difficult.

Axminster is a market town and civil parish on the Eastern border of Devon. It’s a small town with various restaurants and small shops. There are railway and bus services available and a Tesco supermarket. The main attraction of the town is the famous River Cottage, a canteen, deli and restaurant by celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
The River cottage HQ, is based on a seventeenth-century farmhouse just outside Axminster on the borders of Devon and Dorset and also provides a range of cookery courses lasting from one to four days.
The courses are hosted by the River Cottage team of experts with emphasis on local, seasonal produce. Whether you are an amateur cook, food enthusiast or a full-blown smallholder, there’s a course to inspire you.

One of the most picturesque villages of East Devon. Branscombe, believed to be the longest village in the country, sweeps down along a spectacular valley, past colourful cottages down to the sea. There are lovely walks over the cliffs to neighbouring towns like Beer and Lyme Regis.

The pretty town of Honiton is has been renowned for lace, pottery and glove making, and although these time honoured crafts are no longer carried out to their former extent, Honiton still has numerous specialist shops dedicated to both lace and pottery.
There’s a weekly street market every Tuesday and Saturday from 9am onwards and a well known Honiton dairy is worth a visit for their homemade ice cream. Honiton pottery and milkshake bar offer a range of pottery classes for all ages and abilities.

One of the most popular locations for fossil hunters from around the world; Lyme Regis has a world heritage status because of its unique geological walk through time spanning the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
The famous cobb dates back to the 13th century, inspiring artists and writers such as Jane Austen. You can hire boats along the cobb and go on fishing trips. A fantastic beach for swimming and shops galore, it also has an old fashioned cinema playing the latest films, a famous fudge shop and fossil museum.
An exciting small scale city full of heritage and culture. Its 2000 year old history blends smoothly with contemporary and modern sides of the city. The magnificent Gothic cathedral and medieval underground passages are main features of the city’s unique history.
You can shop till you drop with many high street and designer names and the new shopping centre ’Princesshay’. The quayside is a hub of activity with bars and cafes, bikes and canoe hire. Lovely if you fancy a drink in the sunshine after a hard days shopping!

siDMOUtHCaptivated by the poet Laureate, John Betjeman and it will captivate you too. With beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, regency history, clean beaches and friendly shops. There is a delightful cobbled beach with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars overlooking the sea.
CHarMOUtHCharmouth beach is the ideal family beach with a mix of sand and pebbles, fossils, clean sea, safe swimming, occasionally good surf.
There is a beach café selling hot and cold drinks, snacks and useful things for the beach. During the summer season these is often a bouncy castle close to the café. There is also a level grass area, with two picnic tables adjoining the beach.
beerThe picturesque village with a colourful population of fishing boats, fresh fish for sale and mackerel trips. Beer stone was first quarried by the Romans and was used in the building of Exeter’s Cathedral. You can take a guided tour around Beer Quarry caves.
OtterY st MarYOttery St Mary is one of the oldest towns with many historical buildings. Set in the beautiful otter valley, St Mary’s parish church was built in the 1337 and is a scaled down version of Exeter’s magnificent gothic cathedral. There is a carnival every October and the famous flaming tar barrels every November 5th.
GittisHaMPrince Charles described Gittisham as “One of the perfect English villages”. With its thatched roofs, medieval church and village green, a visit to Gittisham is like a journey back in time.
Situated in the rolling farmland of East Devon, this former estate village has maintained its unspoiled, harmonious character.
PaiGntOnThis town has award winning beaches that are amongst the very best in Britain, while Paignton pier is overflowing with things to keep you busy, from crazy golf to the amusement arcade, shooting gallery and bouncy castle. A fantastic family day out. Paignton Zoo is definitely worth a visit, with over 3000 animals from across the globe, including the rare red panda.
