MTS Credo Systems
KryoTrans Containers
Qualified Generic Systems
Active or Passive systems ?Whats the difference ?
Active systems have Moving parts, electronics (batteries, motors, compressors etc)They are bigger systems for bigger quantities of freight / product.
Passive systems dont !They rely solely on hot or cool energy from chemical mass.(water based gel packs, salt based gel packs, phase change plates, dry ice). They are smaller systems for smaller quantities of freight / product.
Active Solutions: Envirotainer CLD, RKN, RAP: Chill Only Containers (for 2-8.C Summer Shipping only) Envirotainer RKNe1: Heat & Chill Aircraft Containers for 2-8.C, 15-25.C (for all
year round shipping) UniCoolers / OptiCoolers RKN & RAP: Heat & Chill Aircraft Containers for -20.C,
2-8.C, 15-25.C (for all year round shipping) C-Safe RKN : Heat & Chill Aircraft Containers for 2-8.C, 15-25.C (for all year round
shipping) TCVs (Temperature Controlled Vehicles) for -20 to +25.C
Passive Solutions: Kryotrans KT26, KT70, KT400 Containers: (Phase Change Materials)
for -80.C, -20.C, 2-8.C, 15-25.C MTS Credo Systems : (Phase Change Materials)
for -20.C, 2-8.C, 15-25.C Cool Logistics / Laminar Medica / DGP water based qualified shipper systems for 2-
8.C and 15-25.C Customers or Sponsors own validated shipper system from their own validated
supplier.
Different types of Active & Passive Systems
For Larger / Bulk Shipments to Depots & Local Offices: Envirotainer CLD, RKN, RAP Aircraft Containers for: -20.C, 2-8.C Envirotainer RKNe1 Aircraft Containers for: 2-8.C, 15-25.C UniCooler RKN & RAP Aircraft Containers for: -20.C, 2-8.C, 15-25.C C-Safe AcuTemp RKN Aircraft Container for: 2-8.C, 15-25.C TCVs (Temperature Controlled Vehicles) for: -20 to +25.C
Examples of Active Systems
Smaller Shipments to Sites: Kryotrans Containers for: -80.C, -20.C, 2-8.C, 15-25.C MTS Credo Systems for: -20.C, 2-8.C, 15-25.C Cool Logistics/Laminar/DGP systems for: 2-8.C, 15-25.C Marken Bio-5/10/15/25/30/45 Boxes for: -80.C Dry Ice
Examples of Passive systems
How do they work ? Temperature Controlled Aircraft Containers for: -20.C, 2-8.C, 15-25.C Massive accumulators in base or side of containers for power. Plugged into main electrical supplies at airports. Heating elements to heat the air inside the cargo compartment Compressors or Dry Ice bunkers to cool the air. Thermostat to achieve desired (set) temperature. They all control the temperature of the air inside the cargo compartment which
surrounds the customers product.
Envirotainers / UniCooler / AcuTemp Containers
Differences? RKN / LD3 size containers can only accommodate 1 pallet max. RAP / LD9 size containers can accommodate 4 or 5 pallets max.
(4 standard [120x100cm base] or 5 Euro [120x80cm base] pallets max.) UniCoolers use Dry Ice to Chill (so need re-icing) Opticoolers/AcuTemps/Envirotainer e1s use compressors (no dry ice) UniCoolers/OptiCoolers are Lufthansa products (must fly via FRA=1 day extra) Envirotainers / AcuTemps are 3x more expensive to lease. Max Height of Pallets: UniCooler RKN = 110cms, AcuTemp RKN =120cms,
Envirotainer RKNe1 = 125cms, UniCooler RAP = 130cms.
Envirotainers / UniCooler / AcuTemp Containers
The Cool Logistics Pallet Shipper oppositehas a chargeable weight of 102kgs andhas a product space of 106Litres.
The RKN Container below has a chargeableweight of 755kgs, but has a product spaceof 1,900 Litres. (x18 greater)
You would need 18 of the Cool LogisticsEN106 Pallet Shippers above to equal theproduct space in the 1 RKN Container below!
18 Pallet Shippers = 1836kgs of Freight ChargesPLUS the cost of the Shippers also (1980)Versus 1 RKN Container = 755kgs of Freight ChargesPLUS the rental cost of the RKN

CriticalPoints: Ensure the ambient air is ambient temperature (~20.C) Ensure the air can circulate round both sides of the plates/gels. Ensure the staff performing this operation are trained/qualified. Ensure the correct packing Config is used (Winter or Summer?) Temperature Monitor is pre-conditioned/Enclosed/Activated.

Advantages: They are cheap ! They are single use - so you dont need to return them. Dis-advantages: They have winter & summer configurations They have been validated against unrealistic profiles. They cant cope with extreme ambients (cold winters /
hot summers)
Advantages: They give amazing results They can cope with extremes They last much longer than water-based results. They are re-useable. Dis-advantages: They are expensive to purchase We need to return them back to origin (additional costs)
