To enhance nuclear safety, nuclear security and radiation protection, IRSN interacts and shares its knowledge with public authorities, industry and civil society in such a way as to ensure the unhindered use of the results of its work.
In carrying out its work, IRSN has access to information that may bring to light a situation where there is short-term risk, without the Institute being formally required by the competent authority to act on the matter.
Alerting the entity in charge, or in its absence, public authorities about situations that in its opinion present serious nuclear or radiological risks. It shall immediately alert public authorities if it deems that the situation requires a rapid response
