TRIO Transfer and Cultural Trips

This semester,

TRIO has been

exploring

many different

campuses

throughout the

state. In early

April, TRIO

students

visited the

University of

Maine Augusta (see picture above). It was an

interesting day involving a tour, lunch, and several

students met 1-1 with admissions counselors to

solidify their applications.

In mid-April, TRIO students (see

picture left and above right)

visited the University of Southern

Maine Portland campus and the

Maine College of Art (MECA).

At MECA, we explored the entire

facility including all of their major

art programs, especially

photography. Our TRIO students

received a tour at the USM

Portland Campus, met with TRIO SSS

representatives, and met 1-1 with the director of

admissions to receive answers about their

specific transfer questions.

TRIO students experienced delicious Indian

cuisine at the Tandoor Restaurant in the Old Port.

TRIO students survived the Escape Room by

working together to decipher clues with just over

6 minutes remaining to the hour given.

In early May, TRIO student and staff visited the

University of Maine

Farmington. Our TRIO

student received an in-

depth tour of the campus,

and enjoyed visiting their

TRIO Johnson Scholars’

Program. We explored

the cultural Thai and

Korean cuisine of Ginger

Spice in the Farmington

downtown.
