“I am a City On A Hill, and I can not

be hidden. I am a real person,

with a real faith, in the True and

Living God, Whose Spirit is the

source of real change for a dying world. I live the Word of

God, I walk in His Mercy, and I stand in His Grace. With the

power of the Holy Spirit I will seek out the lost, preach

restoration to the broken, and declare the victorious Life

that God has promised all who would believe upon the

Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God! I am

anointed to serve souls in need, lead souls to Christ, and

build for the Kingdom of God!”

CITY ON A HILL • VISION STATEMENTMatthew 5:14

Fundamental Beliefs of City On A HillWE BELIEVE...The Scriptures are Inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

WE BELIEVE...There is only One True God–revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

WE BELIEVE...In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's son Jesus was both human and divine.

WE BELIEVE...though originally good, Man Willingly Fell to Sin–ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

WE BELIEVE...Every Person Can Have Restored Fellowship with God Through 'Salvation' (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior).

WE BELIEVE...and practice two ordinances—(1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.

WE BELIEVE...the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.

WE BELIEVE... The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

WE BELIEVE...Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

WE BELIEVE...The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE...A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church and to Meet human need with ministries of love and compassion.

WE BELIEVE...Divine Healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins).

WE BELIEVE...in The Blessed Hope—When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.

WE BELIEVE...in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

WE BELIEVE...A Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.

WE BELIEVE...and look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. 'And so shall we forever be with the Lord!'

*All beliefs listed above are that of the Assemblies of God, however are also core beliefs of most Protestant denominations.

Believe?

Night Light Ministry catering to the needs of infants and toddlers. The smallest of God’s blessings to the human family need the Gospel of Jesus Christ too. This ministry will be crafted to provide a safe, loving, warm, and nurturing environment that speaks to the spiritual and physical growth of the littlest believers.

City Kidz Contemporary ministry to Youth (ages 5-10), reaching to the heart of biblical, spiritual, generational, and institutional issues that impact the lives of youth, and their viability in the Body of Christ; as well as their relevance within the Church.

Soul Factory Contemporary ministry to Youth (ages 11-18), reaching to the heart of biblical, spiritual, social, political, financial, generational, and institutional issues that impact the lives of young believers, and their viability in the Body of Christ; as well as their relevance within the Church.

Shine Outreach college campus ministry to university centers on college campuses of metropolitan city centers, supported by weekly small group Bible study and campus wide sponsored ministry events tailored to college students and the local communities of the campus.

Hill Life Contemporary ministry to Young Adults (ages 22-30’s/40’s), reaching to the heart of biblical, spiritual, social, political, financial, generational, and institutional issues that impact the lives of young adults, and their viability in the Body of Christ; as well as their relevance within the Church.

Sanctuary Dynamic teaching and worship ministry focused on a common sense approach to the truths of God’s Word, through the person of Jesus Christ, and the applicable power of His life, death, and resurrection.

Refuge Refuge House of Restoration and Hope will be a center that focuses on the specific issues of men. The “state of the art” facility will host an onsite clinic that will serve the male: homeless, working poor, and indigent populations within the surrounding communities. The facility will also serve as a transition home for men, a place of training and rehabilitation, as well as extended education services.

The City Dynamic ministry to widows and orphans, focused on providing low cost housing through the ministry in a state of the art facility for the elderly. The City will also focus its attentions to children who have been institutionalized for lack of a family to care for them. The Church will open its facility’s doors for a home to children that may otherwise end up homeless. City on a Hill as a church will champion the cause for adoption within the body of Christ, to answer the call of Christ to care of orphans, and the “least of these”.

Youth Ministry

Three Pillars of Ministry Excellence From the start, City On A Hill must tackle three key areas of attendee experience that will directly impact whether the church is successful or fails at it’s core objectives and goals. Each pillar holds equal weight, and the over-arching ministry cannot prevail without the presence of all three applied in excellence. The Worship Experience sets the spiritual tone for the worshiper. The Teaching/Preaching Series set the tenor of an attendees encounter with the Word of God. The Youth Ministry is the gateway to fellowship with attendees’ families, and ultimately their hearts.
