Working  Group:  City  of  Manchester  is  Chair,  Helsinki  and  Barcelona  are  Vice-­‐Chairs

                     -­‐  Euroci'es  founded  in  1986  and  its  Brussels  office  opened  in  1992  -­‐  Teleci'es  founded  in  1993  and  first  EC  funded  “European  Digital  

 Ci'es”  project  (94-­‐96  -­‐  FP4)  -­‐  led  to  further  projects:  

 -­‐  TEN-­‐Telecom  project  ‘InfoCi'es’  (96-­‐98)    -­‐  IntelCity  Roadmap  project  (FP5  –  2002-­‐3)    -­‐  Intelligent  Ci'es  project  (FP6  –  2004-­‐6)  

-­‐  Teleci'es  became  Euroci'es  Knowledge  Society  Forum  (KSF)  in  2005  -­‐  Manchester  was  a  founding  member  of  Teleci'es  and  the  Living  Labs    network  (2006)  which  became  the  European  Network  of  

 Living  Labs  (ENoLL)  -­‐  Euroci'es  KSF  launched  its  Smart  Ci'es  working  group  in  April  2011,  

 co-­‐chaired  by  Manchester  and  Barcelona  (both  leads  for  EU    CIP  Smart  Ci'es  projects,  Manchester  with  ‘Smart  Innova'on    &  People  –  SMARTiP’  and  Barcelona  with  ‘Open  Ci'es’)

Smart  Ci)es  Outcomes  

•  Seang  out  the  basis  for  long  term  collabora)on  between  Smart  Ci)es,  Living  Labs  and  Future  Internet  

•  Crea)ng  open  innova)on  networks  for  new  smart  apps  and  services  for  city  use-­‐cases  and  test-­‐beds  

•  Adding  People  in  to  create  PPPPs  –  Public-­‐Private-­‐People-­‐Partners  –  Smart  Ci)es  needs  Smart  Ci)zens  

•  Co-­‐crea)ng  innova)ve  new  business  models  for  service  delivery  

•  Suppor)ng  new  projects  as  they  develop
