Château VIRCOULON 2019 BORDEAUX BLANC OVERVIEW Château Vircoulon has been a family property for four generations. Originally producing many different crops when Patrick Hospital took it over in 1983, he turned it over entirely to wine-growing. Nowadays, he manages the property with his wife. VINEYARD Soil: 80% loamy-sand and 20% chalky-clay Surface: 7 hectares Location: The vineyard, South/South-West facing, is located in Saint-Avit- de-Soulège close to Castillon-La-Bataille. Average age of the vineyard: 20 years Grape varieties: 55% Sémillon / 35% Sauvignon / 10% Muscadelle VINIFICATION Low temperature vinification after 10 days at cold temperature on deposits from the must. WINE TASTING This new vintage deploys a nice colour with bright hints. The nose reveals scents of white fruits and citrus fruits. The oalate is well-structured with a lot of flesh and amplitude, with a pleasant liveliness on the finish. MATCHING FOOD AND WINE Serve at 8-10° with oysters and other seafood dish, skewered fish or with marinated white meats.
