The Tools To Meet Various Density Requirements

The CB-434C has all the tools needed totailor compactive effort with densityrequirements, allowing your operator tomeet specifications in the fewest passes.Some density specifications require youto meet 94 percent one day and 99percent the next. The CB-434C iscapable of meeting those fluctuatingspecifications because of its three

vibratory amplitudes. High amplitudeworks best on thick lifts or harsh mixes.Medium amplitude is well suited to 50 mm (2") to 100 mm (4") lifts. Lowamplitude works well on thin lifts andtender materials.

The CB-434C can be used in all phasesof compaction, reducing the need for a

variety of rollers. The CB-434C iscapable of working as a breakdown andintermediate roller because of its highcompactive forces. When operated in thestatic mode, the CB-434C is a perfect fitas a finish roller because of its highstatic pounds per linear inch (PLI). Itsmachined steel drums provide a smoothfinish in this application.

Automatic Speed Control (ASC) helpsensure consistent speeds are maintainedthroughout a job. A rotary dial to the rightof the forward-reverse propel leveractuates a variable relief in the hydraulicsystem. Setting the dial at a predeterminedpoint will limit top speed of the machine.The operator can then push the propel leverall the way forward or all the way back andthe machine will automatically accelerateto the predetermined speed and maintain it.

ROPS/FOPS Canopy provides operatorprotection in the event of machine roll-over or from falling objects. It is the two-post type which bolts directly to themachine frame.

Water Distribution Mats help keepdrum surfaces wet in extremely dry, hotor windy conditions. The mats areconstructed of flexible rubber and aredesigned to hold and disperse water onthe drum surfaces. They also keep the

drums clean by providing a secondarycleaning action to remove minor asphaltparticles not removed by the drumscrapers. The mats can be retracted fromthe drums when not in use.

Coco Mats retain water as it isdistributed by the water spray system.The coco mats allow water to seep out ofthem. This provides a continuousdistribution of water and keeps the waterspray system from having to workcontinuously.

Working Lights illuminate the workarea under dim and dark conditions. Itconsists of four variable adjustmentflood lights positioned two forward andtwo rearward.

Suspension Seat provides comfortableoperation. It includes pivoting armrest andallows adjustment for height, weight anddistance from control console.

Ground Speed Indicator measuresrolling speed. The analog dial iscalibrated in kilometers per hour and feetper minute.

Vibratory Tachometer displaysvibratory system frequency. It isinstalled on the instrument panel in frontof the operator.

Vertical Exhaust moves outlet fromground level to above and away fromoperator. This eliminates fumes fromblowing near ground personnel or nearthe mat.

The system consists of two diaphragmpumps driven by electric motors. Onlyone pump operates at time, supplyingpressurized water to both sets of drumspray bars. Pump operation is controlledfrom operator’s station. System providescomplete back-up capability controlledfrom operator’s station.

Spray can be continuous for maximumwetting action or intermittent formaximum duration between fill-ups. Sixeasy-to-clean spray nozzles on each spraybar are easily removed for replacement orcleaning without the need for tools.

The instrument panel is located in frontof the operator and contains the startswitch, two-position electric throttle,hour meter, alternator indicator light,electrical system fuses, fuel gauge, andfour-segment warning light cluster. Anaudible alarm sounds and the four-segment warning light cluster illuminatesif abnormal conditions occur in hydraulic

oil temperature, engine oil pressure,engine coolant temperature or chargepressure. A four-segment operationallight cluster is also positioned on theinstrument panel. It illuminates if thevibratory system, drum spray system,turn signals (option) or lights (option)are engaged.

Machine controls are located at theoperator’s right on the control console.These include propel lever, drum sprayswitch, vibration switch, vibration modeselector, horn and secondary/parkingbrake switch.
