Urban Realities: Landscape Urbanism 3 Day Design Challenge, Melbourne 2011

The Landscape Urbanism 3 Day Design Challenge encouraged teams to participate in a competition that involved designing and constructing a site in response to a brief, within a 72-hour time frame. The challenge aimed to bring together creative minds both nationally and internationally to compete in a design competition that responded to the 2011 State of Design festival theme “design that moves.”

I was an integral member of a team which comprised of five SJB Architecture representatives and five other participants. The concept of our design was to create a movement corridor, placing emphasis on the alignment of various elemental vistas within the urban surrounds. Our design was named ‘Urban Augment'. We were the winning team in the public voting category.

Habitat for Humanity - Procurement Officer, Bayside Division 2003 – 2005 I participated in a charity project- Habitat for Humanity. Comprising of a group of volunteers, the project developed housing solutions in sustainable communities, for families in need. This was achieved by designing, building or renovating affordable housing. My tasks in this project included: • Organised charitable donations of building materials and labour. • Manufactured kitchens for the charity. • Co-ordinated various stages of the housing construction.
