INTRODUCTION

Through the efforts of the SIC and Teachers of Catadman Elem. School with the fall of

support of stakeholders, this SIP arrived its final content to uphold the idea that all pupils can

learned and deserve an equitable opportunity to succeed and become and effective competitors in

this new trend of generation.

In collaboration with all agencies who continuously mentoring, evaluating and test the

efficacy of the programs, will serve as basis for further research and continually conform into

this global trend.

PROFILE

I. SCHOOL

Location:

CATADMAN ELEM. SCHOOL STANDS IN THE MIDST OF BRGY. CATADMAN, MUNICIPALITY

OF BASILISA, PROVINCE OF DINAGAT ISLANDS. BRGY. CATADMAN IS LOCATED IN COASTAL

AREA OF MELGAR BAY IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE MUNICIPALITY.

Topography

THE TOPOGRAPHY SITUATION OF THE SCHOOL HAS A NEARBY MOUNTAIN IN THE

WESTERN PART OF THE SCHOOL BUILDING ESTIMATED ITS EVALUATION OF 20 METERS ABOVE

SEA LEVEL WHICH IS PRONETO LANDSLIDE.

History.

It started in the year 1931 as Primary School. The first teacher was Mr. Avila followed by

Susana Geraldino.

It turned to be an Elementary School, Year 1952. Many Head Teacher headed CES.

Among them were: MR. GUARDO SEGOVIA; Mr. Santos Cedro; Mr. Dafroso Litim; Mr.

Miguel Daguman; Mrs. Hermogena Zerda, Mr. Isabelo Jolijole; Mrs. Aurora C. Baptisma and

at present Mrs. Josefina C. Ga.

It was in theyear 1959 when a certain Fortunato Geraldino donated his land as a school

site.

Originally pupils of Catadman Elementary School were children from neighboring

barangay: Cabayawan; Gomez; Matingbe; “Puyang;” now Metro San Jose.

1952 graduates of CES are now salaried. Some are working abroad. Some are running

the local government of Catadman.

Recently, CES is composed of only four teachers namely: Mrs. Jesus J. Caña (School

Incharge) Mrs. Jocelyn I. Custodio and Mrs. Delia G. Ga CES is under the cluster principal

Mrs. Josefina C. Ga.

Catadman Elementary School is one of the Schools in the District of Rizal Division of

Dinagat Islands. The District is supervised by the energetic, talented, kind hearted Supervisor

Mrs. Salome A. Presilda.

A.1. Provision of Access

Personnel

The school has 3 permanent nationally funded teachers handling combination

classes.

Physical & Ancillary Services

The school finished 20% permanent school perimeter fence in front of the School

building. School classrooms has 20 electrical connections & no Industrial Arts, Home

Economics and laboratory buildings.

Learning Materials & Equipment

The School has no sports/athletic facilities. Textbook and pupils a ratio is about

1:3 the book need pupils are considered condemnable books.

Pupil/Student Performance

Pupils performance is found average result since teachers have done their best in

teaching using MG Teaching strategies.

Curriculum Implementation & Instructional Delivery

Teachers using BEC in the way of cooperative learning method with 30 minutes

remedial instruction daily.

School Management & Administration

B. GENERAL INFORMATION:

Barangay Catadman it is an island surrounded by the sea. To the east, lies the

Municipality of San Jose: to the west, Brgy. Cab-ilan: to the north, Poblacion Rizal: and

to the south, brgy. Cabayawan.

Formerly Catadman called “Capaquian” by its earliest settlers, laten on named

“Catadman” which derived from residents expression “Wow! Ca-tagman”.

Catadman has many rich resources: fish, copra and root crops. Year 1931

Catadman existed but was formally created as barangay by the late Mayor Baldemoro

Meso in 1952 Catadman before was one of the barangay of Dinagat, but during the

creation of the municipality of Rizal now “Basilisa” it was and is now one of its

barangays.

C. PHYSICAL FEATURES

C.1 GEOGRAPHICAL

The barangay is an island comprises of four Purok. It is 23 kilometers away from

Surigao City which can be reached by sea transportation. It is situated 3 kilometers away

on the City which can be reached by sea transportation. It is situated 3 kilometers away

on the eastern part of Rizal. It is bounded on the last by Dinagat, West by Rizal, North

Poblacion San Jose, South by Cabilan, Dinagat.

C.2 LAND USE AND TENURIAL ECONOMY

The barangay has a total land area of 115 hectares. It is distributed into five

categories. The Agriculture and cropland are bigger in which farmer folks tilled the land

for camote, cassava and banana. The major product of this barangay is copra which

derived from coconut plants.

In the absence of our Cluster Principal, School Incharge manage the School with

the assistance of the parents who actively supported in all School Activities.

During GPTCA meeting it ranges 90% of parents attendance and ranges 90% to

95% during every Brigada Eskwela.

The islands has an elevation of 200 meters or more above sea level which is prone to landslide and dangerous to the residents during bad weather.

Topographic situation is generally rugged surrounded with big rocks.

C.4 SOIL TYPE

Dinagat has only one type of soil, clay, loam. The fertility of soil is high which is now

barren and eroded due to erosion. It is further classified by the Bureau of Soil as land system

number 19 of the Redondo Type which PH Classification ranges from moderated to severe.

SOCIO-CULTURAL

Brgy. Catadman has no Brgy. Health Station. Only Weighing Scale for children is

available. The Rural health Midwives provide their services in Brgy. Gym and visit once a

month for immunization and pre-natal care. The constituents avail other Health Service at the

Rural Health Unit located at Tagabaca, Basilisa, and to the District Hospital located at the town

proper of Dinagat.

DEMOGRAPHY

The 685 population are composed of households with an average household size of 5,

which has relatively bigger family members that affect family income.

Its constituents mostly originated from the province of Cebu, Leyte, and Surigao. The

very predominant dialect spoken in the area is Cebuano with an accent of Surigaonon.

Graph shows that the school has a big leap of 17.28% from previous result. All Subject

areas met the mastery level of 75% except english. It connotes that teachers effort has gain

positive result after their thorough review of the least learned competencies.

On Post Test (SY 2008-2009) the result revealed of having an average result for instructional & independent level. No frustration and non-reader noted.

On the SReA Result for Grade I Entrants

There is a similar result on Phil-IRI Filipino and English. Hence, no Frustration and non-readers noted.

Out of 6 grade I entrants there were 4 pupils who are ready during the pre test examination. And 2 are reported as not ready.

During the post test, it increased to 5 and lessen the not ready into 1.

School equipt. is compared only 24 sets of table and chairs. Teachers table is provided by

the teachers itself. It has no laboratory, sports. Industrial Arts and Home Economics equipments.

Pupils using the considered condemnable textbooks with the textbooks

and pupil ratio of 1:2

Teaching aids is provided by the teachers in every learning process.

Instructional Supervision

The school is supervised by the cluster principal visiting the

school and checking teachers lesson plan.

Resource Mobilization

The Barangay made pledge to School during their session to give

financial assistance to the School for ground improvement.

Resource Allocation

The school MOOE together with the pearly allocation from the

Barangay can form part of the School Improvement in Physical and

Instructional Facilities of the school.
