1 BACKGROUND Castle Crow & Company is a San Francisco-based merchant banking group that initiates transactions and makes equity investments in privately held companies. In conjunction with nationally recognized and respected private equity sources and financial institutions, they facilitate leveraged buyouts, management buyouts, recapitalizations, and minority equity investments with privately held businesses and subsidiaries or divisions of public companies. BUSINESS CHALLENGE Merchant banking involves a variety of different financial disciplines, including investment banking, private equity, and corporate development. With such a diverse array of business activities, directors and partners need to manage multiple aspects during a transaction’s life cycle.
