Career Related Learning Standards Activity Requirements:

Students must successfully complete the 4 required activities plus complete an additional 1000 points to earn Career Related learning Proficiency Credit. All activities must be included in a portfolio and be submitted for credit to be recorded.

Activities need to be placed in an organized notebook either as a hard or virtual copy. The notebook should have a cover page, content page, and assignments need to be categorized by number of points, following the chronological order of the point sheet to the left. Turn in when notebook totals the required assignments and 1000 pts.

Required Activity #33. CIS IDEAS Interest Assessment and Inventory

1. Type in the address bar: http://www.oregoncis.uoregon.edu/home/2. Click on the left - Sign In3. Username: career.info Password: search Click on Create My Career Planning Portfolio (top right on screen)

Enter your first and last name, your graduation year, your computer login-in name (which is your First name.Last name) and your password, which is your student ID number (if ID is only 4 numbers, put the 4 numbers, then your first and last initial. Re-type ID. Click Submit.

Click Yes and submit.

Go to Career Assessments (bottom left) and click on Ideas AssessmentTake the testClick on get results and click on saveClick on one of the red check marks in your high interest category.

2. PSAT/ACT/SAT PSAT is for sophomores and interested juniors. The SAT may be taken by juniors and seniors. For PSAT/SAT registration, please go to www.collegeboard.com and review the dates and times for testing at McMinnville High School.ACT testing is can be completed anytime from your sophomore to senior year, it is highly suggested that the best time to take your ACT is the spring of your junior year. You may go to www.actstudent.org for registration information for testing at McMinnville High School.

3. Community College Placement TestPlacement Testing procedures may vary at each Community College. Go to the college

website and look for admission and/or placement testing links to determine the process for the particular school you are interested.

in the search ‘cover letters’. Go to ‘entry level cover letter’. Complete the cover letter for a job you might be interested in applying for now or in the future.

MHS offers many field trips which students may sign up to participate in. In addition, if you choose to take a field trip with family, friends, or both, get approval through your advisor prior to going.

Employees can easily see what kind of employee a person can be by how well they fill out the job application. Many jobs have their applications
