The main discovery which was the first of importance was made by Johann Heinrich Schulze, a professor of anatomy at the University of Altdorf who was well known for what he did. He had mixed powdered chalk into a solution of nitric acid in an attempt to officially make a phosphorescent material (the aluminous stone"   of the alchemist, Baldwin) and was amazed at the fact that he had to discover that the   mixture turned dark violet in sunlight. He traced the discoloration to a contaminant in the acid, silver, and finally proved to everyone that   silver compounds were visibly changed by the action of light rather than heat or exposure to air, as had been previously  suggested. Schulze made numerous stencil prints on the sensitive contents of his bottles, but apparently he never applied the  solutions to paper or made any attempt to try to record natural photos.

THE CAMERA OBSCURA IS DEVELOPED  Joseph Niepce developed the camera obscura and took the first photo with it. It wasn't ideal, though, because it took 8 hours of light exposure to make a picture, and the picture faded with time.

was a French inventor, who first ever invented a camera now usually credited as the inventor of photography and a pioneer in that field Niépce developed heliography, a technique he used to create the world's oldest surviving product of a photographic process: a print made from a photoengraved printing plate in 1825.[In 1826 or 1827, he used a primitive camera to produce the oldest surviving photograph of a real-world scene.

1814

THE DAGUERREOTYPE WAS INVENTED

LOUIS DAGUERRE

Louis Daguerre invented a new way to take pictures. It only needed 30 minutes of light exposure, and the image didn't fade with time. It was a box wooden

Camera which he had invented for the fun of it turned out it actually

worked the camera had a whole cut through into it.

1837

MAKING MULTIPLE COPIES POSSIBLE 1841

William Henry Talbot developed the Calotype process. This made it possible to make multiple copies of the same picture, he basically was a very clever man who helped things worked that we need theses days.

1841

TAKING PICTURES GETS EASIER

With the new Collodion process, cameras only needed a few seconds of light exposure to make a picture because you will still be able to see the photos and there will be a bit of light exposed so it will make the photo stand out because the sun has hit it. Made in 1851

FILM IS MADE EASIER TO HANDLE

Up until this time pictures had to be developed because of certain reason defaults ect, immediately after being taken. Richard Leach Maddox invented the gelatin dry plate silver bromide process, which made it possible to take a picture and develop it later.

1871

THE INVENTION OF THE ROLL-FILM CAMERA  George Eastman invented the first roll-film camera 1888 a film roll is

something that you can look pictures up on or take some your self and be inventive.

THE POLAROID CAMERA IS MARKETED  EDWIN H. LAND The Polaroid allowed people to take a photo and have it developed

immediately, right from the camera and you could grab it by your own hands with ink already in it

1948

COLOURED FILM IS INTRODUCED  1963 Polaroid came out with the first coloured film. Which means the first films

are no longer in black and white.

THE FIRST CONSUMER CAMCORDER IS RELEASED Sony put out the first consumer camcorder, allowing people to record their

memories in real time. 1980

improved by Pixar

THE EASY SHARE CAMERA COMES INTO PLAY  Kodak put out their Easy Share digital camera, which made it easy to snap

pictures and download them to the computer.
