CHAPTER ONETHE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING

Introduction

This study is all about how a timer in a computer shop works and how to

build programs that is more easy to use than others. Well all know that there is a

lot of timer software in the market right now like Caf Manila and CafeEeze ,

They have different interfaces but they do the same functions like timers . Also

this is rarely chosen by student to do as their system because of its complexities

but on the other hand if they do this system they will understand more the JAVA

programming.

This type of system is chosen because it can help the administrators of

Computer Shop to run their computer shop business well, because there is a

timer in it they will not depend on the usual manual timing.

Background of the Study

There are a lot of Existing System that monitors the time just like Caf

Manila , CafeEeeze and others, They all give different features to the users but in

this system it will cover timer and also computes the total amount the customer

will pay.

1. How Caf Time System will help the Computer Shop owners?

2. What features is most likely the owners of Computer shop wants in

Computer time management System?

Objectives of the Study

General Objective.

The Main objective of this system is to help the owner of Computer Shops

in a way that this system will monitor the time consumption of the customers at

the same time calculate the total amount and save a soft copy of the past

transactions and it can be printed to a hard copy.

Specific Objectives.

1. Monitor Time Usage of the customers

2. Warn the user if there is a time up PC rental customer

Scope and Limitation of the Study

This System is intended for Computer shop owners and Personnel Only,

because they are the main people who will use this system in operating their

Computer Shop businesses. This system will require instruments such as

Computer and JAVA in order to run this , This System will not work if the PC with

do not have JAVA in it.

This System will Compute the amount of usage the customer has and on

the same time it will monitor the time consumed, if a certain PC is already

time up there will be alarm in the servers PC that will says there is a PC that

is time but the system will not give alarm in the specific PC. Also this System can

provide soft copy(DATABASE) and Hard copy for documentation purposes. The

System will just cover the monitoring and computing but it will not interfere in the

Other services the business offered just like repairs, downloads, typing jobs and

Etc but this system will have its built in calculator for computing process of the

stated services. The System will also cannot shut-down, restart or even control

the PC, it only can monitor and compute as stated earlier.

This System will be written, programmed and debug in the whole second

Significance of the Study

In General the main significance of this system is it can help people in

Internet Caf Management Business. The People who will use this will feel ease

because all they need to do is to wait to the system because the system will give

warning if there is time up PC.

The System will help the users in a way that the usual hassles they always

face in a computer shop will solve, In that way they will experience less stress

from the works.

Technological Significance

The System have its timer and can compute also, Its one of its major

significance because it can help the users.

Economical Significance

The loss in data can be evaded in using this system since it will save

automatically the transactions.

This System will solve the problems such as counting the value the

customer by calculating the consumed time. The time will implemented at the

different phase in the over all timer of the system. The System will solve many

problems the computer shop faces in real life scenarios. The System will work

This is the log-in System of the Caf Time Time Management System.

The Admin has the privilege to create new guest account in the main frame.

The Greeting Frame of the System.

This is one of the vital points in the system. This is the frame that will add a

transaction in a pc, also its the frame that allows the user to manipulate if how

many hour the customer want to rent.

buttons that will be needed in order to operate the system. It consist of the timer

in the upper right and Buttons in right and upper right of the Frame.

recorded in the Database. There is also a feature here where you can print hard

copy of the transactions.

The Quick Add 15-min / 1 Hour Frame. The miniframe that is being shown above

is the frame where only be activated to show once you click the add 15 Mins

button in the lower part of the System. This frame allow you to extend a certain

PC.

Caf Time Cyber Caf Management System

II. Area of Investigation

Making an simple system is one of a IT student must have to do. Thus we

all know that Cyber Caf are very common nowadays, so its important to make a

project that will help the people operate their Cyber Caf or commonly known as

Computer shop easily.

Making an Cyber Caf system will help them in monitoring the time

consume by the customer and also prevent the overtime in using the computers.

However in making a system like this theres a lot to be consider in order to run

this System smoothly in almost all of the computers like an Easy User Interface,

System Requirements (Minimum / Recommended) and other factors

III. Significance of Study

This System will make the transactions in Computer Shops easy because

itll not only have the timer but it also computes the amount customer will have to

pay for renting the computer . Other than that itll have also a feature that will

save Data of the past transactions the computer shop does in other words a

history.

This system / Study will cover the following a special timer with alarm for

monitoring, data saving for the past transactions of the computer shop, Tight user

Security and auto computing of the total amount the customer must pay.

This system / Study will not cover the following, other services a computer

shop offers such as photoshop, downloading, repairs, cd burns and etc. The

System will not be able to control the specific Pc, but it will give warning to the

Users PC if there is an timed PC that is operating.

V. Target Users / Beneficiaries

The target Users or Beneficiary of this System / Study is the small

business that is operating a computer shop or Cyber caf. This can help them for

better, precise and fast services .

VI. Similarities / Difference to existing studies

This system will implement greater security other than other system

because of the admin only can edit the data and documents the system have.

This system will write entirely using JAVA Programming Language and will

use IDE such as NetBeans IDE 7.0.1 and Eclipse IDE as front end and MS

Access as Backend.
