What Causes Tornadoes?

Tornadoes form by hot and cold air meeting each other and start to chase around in a circle, forming a vortex.

Fun Facts

Since 1925, tornadoes have killed over 9,000 people in the U.S.

F5 is the most powerful tornadoes and only two occur per year.

F6 tornadoes are possible, but nobody has ever observed them.

Two things that make a tornado violent are the Jet Stream and the Coriolis Effect.

The tornado is a spinning column of air.http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.armageddononline.org/images/tornado-twister-disasters.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.armageddononline.org/natural-disasters.html&usg=__BEzH-cpagVdPcU9JX5v2lPARFEk=&h=600&w=800&sz=35&hl=en&start=53&zoom=1&itbs=1&tbnid=_-dLqYjhR3N63M:&tbnh=107&tbnw=143&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtornadoes%26start%3D40%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1T4ADBF_enUS342US354%26ndsp%3D20%26tbs%3Disch:1%26prmd%3Dinbv
