The Power of Heels will feature a local businesswoman and a runway fashion show at its upcoming meeting in July. The Power of Heels is the womens division of the Burleson Chamber.

Keynote Speaker Julie Roberts is the owner of The Cottage Market, an elegant and upscale retail store located in Old Town Burleson. Julie will talk about the challenges and joys of working as an independent retailer in todays competitive marketplace. Her presentation will be followed by a runway fashion show featuring apparel from local Burleson Chamber boutiques, an event certain to be enjoyed by the women in attendance.

After a long career as a business executive, Julie opened The Cottage Market in 2014. The 3,000 SF store features classic accent furniture, home dcor, kitchen items, gifts for wedding registries, gourmet foods, jewelry and more. Julie travels to New York, Las Vegas and Dallas to shop for the store. The Cottage Market also provides monogramming and printing for brides, floral arrangements and decorative and functional art.

Offering fresh unique products in a boutique atmosphere, The Cottage market has contributed to the upward swing in Burlesonsdevelopment, wrote the Burleson NOW magazine in a recent article.

As a special treat, Chamber members are invited to bring their daughters to this fun and informative luncheon and style show. Cost for the luncheon is $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members, and $10 for anyone under the age of 18. RSVPs can be made on theChambers website.

The meeting will be held at First Baptist Church of Burleson on Friday, July 29th beginning at 11:30 AM. Title sponsor is Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Burleson; Venue Sponsor is Kris Brown Chevrolet Buick GMC; and Sweet Sponsor is Nothing Bundt Cakes.

A packed house heard from Allen Forte, a noted executive coach with People Performance Group, at the May Power of Heels Luncheon. A leading business and people leader for more than twenty years, Mr. Fortes discussion of understanding your purposes and achievingpersonal excellence was both informative and entertaining.
