Pillow Front1. Sew one 4” x 121⁄2” (10.2 cm x 31.8 cm) Fabric M side

panel piece to one 121⁄2” (31.8 cm) side of patchwork. Press seam to panel. Repeat for other side.

2. Layer pillow front right side up over batting and mus-lin. Baste the layers together and quilt as desired.

3. Trim batting and muslin even with front to measure 161⁄2” x 121⁄2” (41.2 cm x 31.8 cm).

Pillow Back1. Fold one 121⁄2” (31.8cm) of one backing piece under

1⁄4” (.64 cm) to wrong side and press. Fold under again 1 1⁄2” (3.81 cm) to wrong side. Press and sew in place. Repeat for other side. Diagram 2

1. Wrong sides up, place the backing pieces so that the short ends overlap each other. Baste across overlap using a scant 1⁄4” (.64 cm) seam allowance. Diagram 3

Finishing1. Right sides together and with raw edges aligned, pin

pillow front to pillow back. Sew 1⁄4” (.64 cm) away from the edge all the way around the perimeter. Diagram 4.
