When we think about body language,
we think about communication..
And when we think about
COMMUNICATION we think about
INTERACTIONS..
So, who all are
actually influenced by our
BODY LANGUAG
E
OTHER PEOPLE are often most interested in
our body language.
YES! PEOPLE ARE
JUDGED
BY THEIR BODY LANGUAGE
Who is actually influenced by our body language??
“Seeing 30 second soundless clip of
doctor and patient interaction could
judge if the physician would
be sued”
- Nalini Ambady
( researcher at Tufts University)
“Judgement of political
candidates’ face
in just one second produce 70% US Senate.”
-Alex todoren
So, who is the other audience influenced by our
BODY LANGUAG
E
It’s you..
Yes, you’re
influenced by your body language
or non- verbal expressions..
Non Verbal expressions of
POWER & DOMINANCE
Not this power or dominance..
“EXPANDING”Yourself.
It’s the power of
The
“POWER POSE”
MAKE
YOURSEL
F BIG
Humans ,whether with sight or not
are found to do power pose
when they feel power chronically or
at the moment.
Feeling power at the moment
So what do we do when we
feel powerles
s?
Exactly the opposite..
“Wrap” ourself..
Make ourselfSMALLER.
“Analysis of M.B.A. classroom told
that high grade people sit with
legs spread out (power pose)
while low grade people tend to
occupy less space.”
-Amy Cuddy
Also few people raise hands like
this..When come to participation
And few people like
This..
So who does what?
-It is seen that students who are participating
more and
are confident tend to take
power pose while raising their
hand .
-Also
male tend to take power
pose
more than female as
female chronically feel less powerful
than men.
Confident ,powerful people and high grade males are found to have
TESTOSTERONE- dominance
hormone
And low grade people
CORTISOL- stress hormone
So when we feel confident or when are
testosterone is high,
We tend to become
powerful.
Is it also true that when we
pretend to become
powerful, we are more
likely to feel powerful?
Can we FAKE it?
YES!!!!
We can
fake it.
People were asked to take low and high power poses for 2
mins each and then asked to gamble.
Their saliva samples were also tested.
To confirm it,
Low power Pose
High power Pose
GambleSaliva test before experiment
Saliva test after the experiment
People having high power are seen to take
more risk than people having less
power
Result 1
Level of testosterone is increased in
people having high power Level of
testosterone is decreased in
people having low power
Result 2
Level of cortisol is decreased in
people having high power
Level of cortisol is increased in
people having low power
Result 3
Also, In a study by Amy Cuddy, It has been found
that
Interviewers tend to select people having
high power.
IT MEANS THAT WE GO SIT LIKE THIS IN AN
INTERVIEW
doesn’t
OR DO THIS WHEN IN MEETING
Time To Do Power Pose
Give yourself time . In any private space you find nearby , perform power pose.. So that you feel power and you succeed.
All it means is that,
PRETEND IT. BECOME IT.

Whenever in life you feel that you do not deserve anything, just
pretend that you do until you
yourself like the same.PRETEND IT. BECOME
IT.
