Blomvlei Multi-Purpose Centre project was initiated by the Tourism Community Development Trust (http://tcdtrust.org.za) in response to Blomvlei Primary School’s expression of need through the 567mw Cape Talk “Silence the Violence” campaign in 2005. The purpose of the project is to build a multi-purpose facility on the premises of the Blomvlei Primary School grounds in Hanover Park. Facilities to be developed at the Blomvlei Multi-Purpose Centre include: Library, Media Resource Centre, Hall, Indoor Recreation Area, Conference Facilities, Outdoor Recreation & Sports Area and an Urban Greening Area. Where do we get our funding from ?
• 2 main Sources of Income:
• Foreign Travelers: – To date we have received in excess of R1 million in
donations from these tourists.
• The Friends of the Trust: Local tourism companies» Annual Donation » as well as offering services pro bono for Community
Causes.
