It’s been fascinating to see how analytics has transformed the way general managers

and trainers make decisions.

What types of data do you look at?



We collect real time data from many sources including exercises recorded in Capture, our 3D

video athlete screening tool. Plus daily self-reports of well-being and sleep quality, GPS data,

heart rate availability, etc. It varies by team.

How does analyzing data help you (or clients) make smarter decisions and stay ahead of the competition?



It’s impacted most facets of the industry - stats, finances, etc. - we’re applying it to injury

prevention and athlete health.

Our system is designed to be holistic and find insights from many data sources. The more

information, the better.











We call what we do “the science of winning.” Significantly increased player availability is a

risk and make better decisions.

How have you seen data impact common baseball injuries?



Make highly informed decisions about the smartest ways to train and condition, and to keep their players healthy and on the field.









Research shows that many factors play a role in this epidemic. Longitudinal

tracking of these risks can help reduce it, for instance, subtle velocity drops and pitch

movement deviations have been shown to be markers of fatigue and injury risk.






We don’t prescribe off days - we empower coaches to use both our insights and their

expertise to make the best decisions they can.

Actually it varies from athlete to athlete. The best indicator is pattern of self-reported

perceived sleep quality.

Where do you see the future of data and analytics?



Analyzing data intelligently is crucial, but analysis is only as good as the

quality/timeliness of the data collected. The future will see huge leaps forward in data collection with tools like 3D video motion

capture athlete screening.
