Detroit got the nickname motown because it was a huge contributor to the development and production of the automobile.

When Henry Ford built his first automobile factory in Highland Park, an independent city surrounded by Detroit. Ford's manufacturing innovations were soon adopted by rival automobile manufacturers, including General Motors, Chrysler and American Motors. Each of them, like Ford, established its headquarters in the Detroit metropolitan area, solidifying Detroit's status as the world's car capital.

The most populous city in the United States

Some nicknames are “The city that never sleeps,” “Gotham”, and “The Big Apple”

One of the most famous landmarks of New York is the Statue of Liberty

The 9/11 disaster happened here

Wall Street, in Lower Manhattan, has been a dominant global financial center since World War II and is home to the New York Stock Exchange.

• Known for the Boston Massacre, and the Boston Tea Party

• After American independence was attained Boston became a major shipping port and manufacturing center, and its rich history now attracts 16.3 million visitors annually.

• The city was the site of several firsts, including America's first public school, Boston Latin School (1635),[8] and first college, Harvard College (1636), in neighboring Cambridge.

• The Battle of Bunker Hill also occurred in Boston

• Honolulu means "sheltered bay" or "place of shelter.

• Honolulu is still the capitol of Hawaii even after the attack of the Japanese on Pearl Harbor

• Honolulu is also a great place for honeymoons because it always has a great climate no matter what time of year.

• The largest city in the state of California and the second largest in the United States.

• Has an estimated population of 3.8 million

• The Los Angeles metropolitan area is home to nearly 12.9 million residents,[3] who hail from all over the globe and speak 224 different languages.

• Also known as the “Windy City,” "Chi-Town", and the "City of Broad Shoulders".

• It is the third-most populous city in the United States after New York City and Los Angeles

• Chicago became notorious worldwide for its violent gangsters in the 1920s, most notably Al Capone, and for the political corruption in one of the longest lasting political machines in the nation.
