    Notes

When working toe and heel joins, maintain stripe pattern as

you work yarnovers and decreases at each edge.

Round begins at bottom of foot. To reduce the jog at the end

of the round, take yarn being dropped over and under

the new color, drawing the old color up and the new color

down with a sharp tug before working ends in.

The center bottom stitch, which marks the beginning ofrounds, is worked out of pattern to disguise the jog

    where chart-ends meet.

To make a longer sock, choose a band from the Leg

chart and work this band also on foot. For greater foot

circumference, work on larger needles, but be sure to

check gauge beforehand, to ensure a fitting sock.

Size Adjustments for ChildrensVersion of Bazaar SocksBy Prs Gbs-Rbrs

To accommodate sizing for children, use the womenspattern with the following adjustments for the cast-on and

the number of stitches and rounds in the foot and leg.

Gauge of Fair Isle patt in the rnd: 22 sts and 44 rnds = 2.

    chilDS laRGe

FiniSheD Size:7 foot circumference and 84 long from back of heel totip of toe, to fit childs size 2-22.

CO 39 sts at toe, working until there are 5 sts betweenyos. Total number of sts after completion of toe: 78.

There are 4 less sts than the womans size, so remove thefirst 2 sts on the right edge of the chart, and the 2 sts

before the last st at the left edge of the chart. Reducelength of foot by 6 rnds by removing Rnds 3-5 and 3-

33 from Band 2 of chart. Work heel as for toe over 39 stsuntil there are 5 sts between yos. Reduce length of legby 6 rnds by removing Rows 44-49 from Band 8 of chart.

    chilDS meDium

FiniSheD Size:634 circumference foot and 8 long from back of heel totip of toe, to fit childs size 02-2.

CO 37 sts at toe, working until there are 3 sts between

yos. Total number of sts after completion of toe: 74.There are 8 less sts than the womans size, so remove the

first 4 sts on the right edge of the chart, and the 4 stsbefore the last st at the left edge of the chart. Reducelength of foot by 0 rnds by removing Rows 3-5 and

3-33 from Band 2 of chart, and removing Rows 36-39

from Band 3 of chart. Work heel as for toe over 37 sts

until there are 3 sts between yos. Reduce length of legby 0 rnds by removing Rows 2-24 from Band 6 of chartand Rows 44-49 from Band 8 of chart.

    chilDS Small

FiniSheD Size:64 foot circumference and 74 long from back of heel to

tip of toe, to fit childs size 90.

CO 35 sts at toe, working until there are 3 sts betweenyos. Total number of sts after completion of toe: 70.

There are 2 less sts than the womans size, so remove

the first 6 sts on the right edge of the chart, and the 6sts before the last st at the left edge of the chart. Reduce

length of foot by 3 rnds by removing Rows 2-4 from Band of chart, Rows 3-5 and 3-33 from Band 2 of chart,

and Rows 36-39 from Band 3 of chart. Work heel as fortoe over 35 sts until there are 3 sts between yos. Reduce

length of leg by 5 rnds by eliminating Band 6 and byremoving Rows 44-47 from Band 8 of chart and Rows 63-
