    Relaxing Made Easy

Long-term, established relationships: Almost 30 years in Kelowna. You know were here for the long run.

Full-service dealer with construction, service, maintenance and retail divisions. We make sure your investment is well maintained for years to come.

Desire to earn your business: Large enough to take care of you, small enough to stay personal in our approach.

We make owning pools and spas easy: Upfront pricing, exceptional service and responsiveness, ongoing education.

Experienced resources that understand all aspects of pool building, pool and spa service and maintenance and water chemistry.

Quality of construction: Exceeding building code standards.

Environmentally conscious: We can recommend ways to make your pool more energy efficient.

Automatic Pool Cover ServicingAs with any mechanical component

where there are moving parts, it is very im-portant to service your automatic cover on a yearly basis to ensure optimal performance and extend the life of your investment. A mechanical inspection to ensure your motor is running smoothly, along with a rope inspec-tion/adjustment, cleaning the tracks and cleaning the fabric will ensure you get a long healthy lifespan out of the automatic cover.

Preventative Pool Heater ServiceMuch like your home furnace, a yearly

inspection and cleaning of your heating appliance is in the best interest of the unit to ensure a long healthy lifespan. From clean-ing the orifices, to venting checks, this is an

essential service to ensure optimal perfor-mance and efficiency for your pool heater.

Yearly Filter Media CleaningIt is important to ensure your filter

media is clean to start the pool season. If you have cartridge filters, a yearly cleaning and soaking in a special formula solution is imperative to ensure the pool is circulating properly. If you have a sand filter, a cleaning solution should be applied to the sand each season to ensure the same. Remember to change your sand every 5 to 7 years.

Seasonal Equipment CheckSunshine Pools staff can assess your

pools equipment to let you know how your equipment is performing.

Safety conscious: Throughout construc-tion and finished product, we design and build with safety in mind.

Accident protection: Should the unthink-able happen, we are fully covered with both workers compensation and liability

insurance. You are insulated from potential costs.

Financing available to make your ownership decision simpler.

We accept Visa and MasterCard payments as a deposit to protect your investment.

  • SPRING/SUMMER 2015 / III

With utility costs reaching record highs, with no relief in sight, more Canadians are opting out of buying a second home in favour of a new vacation destination their own backyard.

Coined staycations, this trend of creat-ing a backyard oasis continues to resonate with homeowners. And why wouldnt it? Avoiding the traffic after a long week at work is reason enough. Pair that with increasing property taxes and decreasing availability, and you see many Canadians are choosing to stay home instead.

There are a few other factors adding to this trend that might surprise you. The biggest reason homeowners, specifically Generation Xers (the 30 to 40 somethings), are investing in these backyard escapes is money. Accord-ing to the experts, investing in the outdoors has one of the biggest returns of any home renovation. Remodeling Magazine even listed the backyard deck in their top three in 2014 for return-on-investment improvements. Savvy homeowners have realized they can have beautiful outdoor escapes in their backyard with a resort feel, and when they are ready to sell their homes, recoup their investment.

So what are the must-haves for these personal paradises? Heres my top three list, starting with number three.
