Locatory.com exceeds the point of onebillion parts!

parts’ demand w ill be largely

concentrated in the ‘classical’

aircraft sector.

Currently the European

manufacturer has almost a

backlog of 2800 Airbus A320

w ith Boeing to maintain approx.

the same figures for its 737 type

of aircraft. But a thorough study

unveils that future deliveries w ill

be distributed unevenly around

the w orld. Whilst the North

American and the European air

companies maintain their

dedication to Boeing B737 w ith

more than 1500 of aircraft to be

delivered, the Asia/Asia-Pacif ic

region aw aits for less than 900

B737s. The overall number of

Airbus A320 orders from the

Western carriers exceeds the

one placed by the Asian-Pacif ic-

based carriers by almost 25%.

But the latter, on the other hand,

show s much greater interest in

the new Boeing 787 and Airbus

A350 than the former. How ever,

even though the new generation

aircraft are declared to have

higher fuel eff iciency, they are

still unlikely to overtake the

Airbus A320 and Boeing 737in

the middle-term perspective.

easyGroup has revealed the

plans to launch a new low -cost

airline, w hich w ould serve

regional hubs in Africa. With an

average forecasted annual

passenger grow th of over 6%,

Africa show s great aviation

development potential.

Unfortunately, many local start-

the intra-African and domestic

routes saw an approx. 15% and

10% annual grow th respectively,

corresponding to over 33.5

million of passengers carried

though the perspectives for the

local aviation to develop

successfully along w ith the

region’s economic grow th are

highly promising, many African

airlines still face the low -

eff iciency issue.
