The  average  closing  price  for  the  Charlotte  area  in March  2010 was $197,564, up approximately 3.2% compared  to 2009.   Aver‐age days on market was 144.9 for the month of March, 2010.  

There were 1900 total closings in March 2010, up 12.1% compared to 2009.  The bulk of home sales continues to be in the lower price ranges, with 79% of sales in the $250,000 and under category.

The graphic above shows total closed sales volume (on the left axis), and total  units  sold  (on  the  right  axis)  from  2000  to  our  forecast  for  2010.  Helen Adams Realty predicts a 4%  increase  in units sold  in 2010, but no increase in total volume, due to the decrease in average home sale price.
