Meet your new Lieutenant Governor

The new Lieutenant Governor for Division 28 is

Kaileen Dougherty, a junior at Issaquah High School. She is on the IHS Cross Country and

Track teams. She’s also very involved in her

community. This past year she served as president

of the IHS Key Club. She went to Key Club’s

International Convention last summer. All of us

who met her at DCON were struck by her

enthusiasm and friendliness. Her goals this year

include visiting all of the clubs in her division

more than once and organizing some inter-club

events, so we can look forward to meeting Key

Clubbers from other schools. She also hopes to

double the number of DCON attendees from

Division 28, and to recognize members and

projects that really stand out.

Best Website

Award Thanks to all the hard

work of Jenny Green, our

club won the award for

Best Website! We were the

only club from Division 28

(Bellevue, Interlake,

Issaquah, Liberty, Mount

Si, Mercer Island,

Newport, Sammamish, and

Skyline) to win an award.

New District Board After hearing the candidates’ speeches and asking

them questions, two delegates from each club voted

on this year’s District Board. Our delegates, Heidi

and Lynell, did a great job and the board looks very

promising.

District Governor: Varun Awasthi

Secretary: Emerson Kim

Treasurer: Ariel Orasud

Bulletin Editor: Mary Alice Peng (from Division 28!)

Delegates also voted to endorse candidates for

international positions, meaning we support them to

run at ICON in June.

International President endorsement: Annie

Lewandowski

International Trustee Endorsement:

Josiah Zitterkob, Yoo Eun Kim

Hey Key Clubbers, how do you feel?

We feel good!

Oh, we feel so good! (Uh!)

Double it up! (Uh, uh!)

Triple it up! (Uh, uh, uh!)

One long uh! (Uuuuh!)

Rapper style! (Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh.)

If you go to DCON or Seattle Rally, be

prepared to yell this at the top of your lungs.

The division with the most spirit wins the

Spirit Stick (And better seats at next year’s

DCON), so learn the cheer and yell it loud!

Relay for Life Garage Sale

CTT Destinations, Snoqualmie

June 4th-5th 9am-5pm both days

This is our MOST IMPORTANT

fundraiser for Relay for Life. We need

EVERYONE to bring in a large-ish box

or two of stuff their family doesn’t

need anymore (clothes, shoes, holiday

decorations, dishes, toys, books, etc.)

so that we have enough stuff to sell.

This is a really fun event, but its

success depends on everyone’s

contributions. So please do your part

and bring donations for the garage

sale! Contact Heidi DeHart at

[email protected] for more

information, or just ask at a Key Club

meeting.

and everywhere else. Cost is $175 for

Key Club members, $200 for non-Key

Club members. Contact to our Kiwanis

UPCOMING EVENTS

We want to hear

from YOU!

Got a cause you want to support, a fundraiser you want to have, or

an idea on how to spice up our Key Club meetings and draw in more

members? Let us know!

Key Club is about high school students wanting to serve their

community, so we need to know who you want to serve and how.

Without input from club members, our Key Club has no way of

making a difference in the world. Even if you want to point out a

problem that you don’t have a solution for, just contact one of your

officers and we’ll do our best to solve it. We want our Key Club to be

the best that it can be.

Thanks!
