Mas des Bressades is regarded as one of the finest domaines of the Costières de Nîmes, and Cyril Mares one of the appellation’s most talented producers. The Estate consists of 40 hectares of vineyards, all of which are farmed sustainably. The soils are rich in red clay and limestone galets roulés, which provides a layer of insulation in times of extreme weather. APPELLATION: AOC Costières de Nîmes CUVEE: Tradition Blanc REGION: Costières de Nîmes, France WINE COLOR: White VARIETALS: 45% Roussanne / 55% Viognier AGE OF VINES: 20 years ( 5 to 45 years) TYPE OF SOIL: Siliceous Rhône pebbles. LOCATION: Located 35 miles southwest of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on the western side of the Rhône. YIELD: 35-40 hl/ha VINIFICATION: Fermentation in 80% new oak barrels. No malolactic fermentation AGING: This wine is aged completely in barrel; 80% new oak and 20% 1 year old. The wine only stays in barrel for 5 months to slightly kiss the wine with a nuance of oak- allowing the fruit to be the focus of the wine. ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13.5% SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES: Yes TASTING NOTE: In the glass, notes of tropical banana and pineapple engage your senses. This is a rich, powerful wine loaded with fruit and balanced with creamy oak and crisp mineral notes on the finish. FOOD PAIRING: Baked chicken or seafood.
