Hello and welcome again to Brock Deer’s Annual Stag and Yearling Hind Sale.
The bar has again risen and this year the jump is massive. The highlight of 2012 was winning the Open Red, Peoples Choice and Supreme Champion awards at the National Velvet Competition, with Zama in conjunction with the Elders. Google, who we sold a half share to Greg Oliver last year, came in third heaviest in the 3yr Section at the competition.
I know not everyone in the country has had brilliant climatic conditions, but in the south we have had a fairly good season, apart from October, which was a write off. This good season shows up in the quality of the stock we have to offer.
This year the three stand-out sires are Zama, Tenzing and Gainsboro. Even though the Zama sons are amazing, don’t overlook the Tenzing stock as they have big bodies and very nice velvet structure. Gainsboro continues to put beam thickness and tops into our velvet. We have put in one Terrence, who, although is later, will have heaps of shows by sale day.
Lot 2 is a stand out velvet head with perfectly clean structure and serious grunt in the beam from bottom to top, and Lot 4 is looking exceptional as a grown out stag.
At Brock Deer we have enlisted the services of FarmSoft IQ Inc. using CervidIQ software for all our animal records, velvet production, indexing, cataloguing and BV ranking (coming). We wish to thank Pierre and Philippe at FarmSoftIQ for their dedication and patience, and we believe the result is excellent.

Conditions Of Sale:
1. The Sale will be conducted under the auspices of the usual conditions of sale of the Invercargill Stock and Woolbrokers Association as displayed
2. The responsibility for the description of the deer in the sale are supplied by the vendors who alone are responsible for their accuracy

4. Intending purchasers are required to register prior to the commencement of the sale to obtain a buyers number and advise appropriate Stock + Station Agent
5. Each lot shall become the property and responsibility of the purchaser at the fall of the hammer
6. Terms will be strictly cash before taking delivery of any animal, unless prior arrangements are made with Auctioneeers. Accounts not paid within 14 days of sale shall bear interest at the current rate per annum from date of purchase
7. Transit and Livestock insurance can be arranged by the Auctioneers who recommend these insurances to all purchasers
8. 3% commission to outside stock companies or independent agents introducing buyers 24 hours prior to commencement of sale
9. Sale will be conducted GST exclusive
10. No animals, embryos or semen sold by Brock Deer or their germplasm, any subsequent progeny or germplasm, including the semen and germplasm of that progeny, may be supplied to a third party without the written permission of the stud.
11. This condition does not affect normal commercial deer farming or stud farming or the normal sales of semen or embryos as it only applies to entities with the primary function of commercial semen/germplasm activities.
12. lt is a condition of sale of any animals, embryos, germplasm, or semen sold by Brock Deer, that the purchaser agrees to include the folowing clause as a condition of any subsequent sale or gift of any animal, embryo, semen, germplasm or subsequent progeny or germplasm to a third party - "the purchaser acknowledges that it will not supply any animals, embryos, semen or germplasm to any commercial semen/germplasm marketing or sales entity, and ensure that this clause is inserted as a condition of any sale or gift of any animals, embryos, semen or germplasm."
