B N M Institute of Technology ANNUAL INTERCOLLEGE VTU CULTURAL YOUTH FESTIVAL 2018 VTU conducts Youth festival every year where Students coming under VTU affiliated colleges will participate in the festival. This festival conducts 25 different events under music, dance, theatre, literary and fine arts. The entire event is a big morale booster for the participants and a bonding factor for the students. Our College’s Kala Bhageerathi Cultural Team of 42 students participated in the 18 th State Level VTU Youth Festival held at Angadi Engineering College Premises, Belagavi, from 11 th to 13 th April 2018. The Theatre team was trained by a renowned theatre director Mr. Joseph from Neenasam. The dance team was trained under Ms. Preethi Bharadwaj, a renowned dancer. Folk Orchestra team was trained under a renowned percussion Guru Sri. Ananatha Krishna Sharma. The team participated in all the 25 events under the guidelines from Prof. N Sheshaprasad (ECE Dept) and Prof. Shrivathsa Kowlgi (CSE) and secured 2 Gold and 5 Bronze medals placing BNMIT in the 4 th Position among 85 participated colleges under VTU. To recognize and encourage the hard work put in by the students, the management of BNMIT has awarded Rs.25,000/- for each Gold medal winners, Rs.20,000/- for each silver medal winners, Rs.15,000/- for each Bronze medal winners and Rs.10,000/- for the participants. The very opportunity to participate in competitions provides each one of the students, a multitude of exposure and experience. The cultural team works as a team with each member multitasking, for a number of varied events. The entire experience is pragmatic as well as enriching and plays its own unique role in BNMIT’s efforts to go beyond academics.
