• Extends courtesy to everyone– Recognized to speak

• Majority Rules– Unpopular ideas are not adopted

• Rights of the minority are protected– Everyone gets to have a say and vote

Definition of Parli-Pro

• Formal, Organized meeting using well-defined set of rules Roberts Rules of Order

• Chairman presides using gavel as symbol of authority– Fair and impartial unless they have relinquished

the duties of the chair

• 1 tap – sit down, announcement of a vote, adjourn
