And the Sleeping Giant... Keeps right on sleeping! The very low noise levels in this Noise Ordinance are completely undoable... I dare say flatulence would set off the “noise alarms”... people got along here in Mexico for 100’s of years with their festivals, fireworks, Mariachi bands, parades and along comes a ridiculous noise ruling makes no sense at all. I don’t see everybody in Mexico with hearing aids (or anywhere else) and I am sure I never will... although I know a couple of audiologists that would be tickled pink! I have a NIOSH SLM decibel meter on my cell phone and the other night at one club I measured around 85 to 90 decibels while the band was playing and just very slightly lower at 80 to 85 decibels while they were on a break! I was led to understand that levels up to 100 decibels would be permitted up to 9 PM (hence why my own group has always shut down at 9 PM) but now I am told it isn’t even this level in an industrial level and that arrivals and departures at Guadalajara Airport are not permitted after 11 PM... by the way... the last flight in early this morning was at 1:45 AM! I had to sit overnight in Houston Airport on the night of May 8 th because the United i was booked on was to land at 11:19 AM... all because of these sound regulations. “Always Have Fun” **********************
