Advanced engine technology has allowed diesel engines to have a smaller capacity with higher torque. And you get all the off-road capabilities like differential lock, Hill-Assist Control (HAC), Trailer Sway Control (TSC), Downhill-Assist Control (DAC)* and Active Traction Control (ATRC)*. The 2.8l Epic and Epic Black engine has a power output of 130 kW @ 3400 r/min and torque of 450 Nm @ 1600-2400 r/min. The 2.4l engine has a power output of 110 kW @ 3400 r/min and torque of 400 Nm @ 1600-2000 r/min.

The 2.8l Epic and Epic Black models are available in a six-speed automatic transmission and the 2.4 litre engine models are available in a 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

The 2.7l petrol engine has a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes, a power output of 122 kW @ 5200 r/min and torque of 245 Nm @ 4000 r/min. This petrol option operates off the six-speed auto transmission.

All Fortuner models boast supreme o� -road capabilities with a ground clearance of 279mm and a towing capacity of between 2500 and 3000kg. If you do choose a 4x4, you’ll be able to change between 4WD, 4WD LOW and 2WD with a � ick of the wrist using the conveniently located electronic range selector switch.

Across the entire Fortuner range, you can expect excellent fuel consumption and a more eco-friendly drive, thanks to the advanced 4 cylinder engine and smooth transmission system. Plus, you can switch between Sport, Eco and Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT)* Drive Mode at the touch of a button.

All Fortuner models sport high-quality finishes you can both see and feel, like the LED front* and rear lights, LED front* fog lamps and brake lights, Daytime Running Lights (DRL)*, and color-coded* retractable side mirrors.

“Epic” branding on the rear, nudge bar and door scuff plates, as well as the addition of a tow bar as standard on the Epic and Epic Black models, set these beasts apart from the pack. The Epic Black model has a two-tone body defined by a glossy black roof including roof rails, unique 18-inch black alloy wheels and a black outside rear view mirror.

We’ve included interior comfort and convenience features like cruise control, automatic* air-conditioning, a reverse camera, TFT* Multi-Information Display, a Push Start System and Smart entry. The touch screen audio system comes with USB, Bluetooth, auxiliary functionality and navigation*, all of which can be operated using the conveniently located steering switches.

Open the doors to a partial leather seat trim with space for up to seven passengers. The second-row

seats are in a 60:40 combination and the third-row seats fold up for optimal space and storage.

The 2.8 Epic and Epic Black models go a step further with a power back door system that can be opened and closed electronically from the driver’s seat, or with the wireless key, and the look is completed with “Epic” branded floor mats.

Every Fortuner model is equipped with state-of-the-art safety technology to help prevent accidents and emergencies, and to reduce injury in the event of a collision. Safety features include driver, front passenger, side, curtain and driver-knee airbags as well as Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle-Stability Control (VSC), Brake-Assist (BA) and Hill-Assist Control (HAC).

No matter which Fortuner you choose, including the Fortuner Epic, security comes standard. All models are equipped with an Anti-theft system comprising of an immobiliser and alarm, wireless door lock (smart entry), auto door lock, and an Automatic Light Control System with Follow-Me-Home lights.
