11. Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students

System for Redressal of grievances of faculty, staff and students

The management of the college follows an open system of administration and grievances from staff and students are

given the utmost attention.

Complaints and suggestion boxes are kept at a number of places in the campus and also in the hostels.

The suggestions and complaints are carefully looked into and remedial measures undertaken. Responses are also

publicized through notice boards.

In case of indiscipline, a committee appointed by the principal enquires into the matter by calling witnesses and

recommendations are made about the action to be taken by the management.

Grievances regarding the staff in terms of salary, promotions etc., are carefully looked into by the HR department in

consultation with the Principal and remedial measures taken.

Class Committee meetings are held in which grievances of students are taken note of and remedial measures taken.

A student welfare officer looks into the welfare of the students and advises the management for necessary action.

i. Cultural Activities:

Two programmes per year are conducted covering traditional, western and folk dances,

dramas, skits and mimicry. Students are sent to other colleges to participate in the inter

college cultural competitions. The cultural activities body comprises of two staff members (1

male, 1 female) and the student organizers (5 No’s).

ii. Sports activities:

A well qualified physical director takes care of all sports activities in the campus. Students

are engaged in games like football, volleyball, cricket and badminton.

iii. Literary activities:

Elocution competition/Debate conducted once in a semester.

iv. Magazine / Newsletter: Nil

a. Counseling / Mentoring:

Principal, Vice-Principal, HOD (Science and Humanities), class coordinators and

the tutors are involved in regular counseling of students for academic and non

academic issues. Weekly one hour is allotted for counseling.

b. Career Counseling:

External experts from industry, academia is called to give an exposure to the

students in career prospects and avenues open in various fields of specialization.

A minimum of two programmes are conducted for the benefit of students for

each branch per semester.

c. Medical facilities:

First aid kit provided for each department and laboratory. A guest practitioner

visits the campus once in a month for regular checkup. In emergency cases a

doctor is called to the campus. A separate room is allotted for taking care of the

patients.

d. Student Insurance: A group insurance proposal for staffs / students is being

finalized.

v. Technical activities / Techfest:

State Level project Exhibition Conducted every year.

Arranged once in every semester for each branch/semester.
