Our Access Diploma is specifically designed to give you the skills and a qualification which will enable you to gain entry to and succeed in Higher Education. The Access Diploma is a nationally recognised entry qualification to University and

is ideal for adults returning to study with the aim of going on to study a degree. Last year, 84% of Tower Hamlets College students who applied for a place to university were accepted – higher than the national average of 77%.

ACCEss TO HIGHEr EDUCATIOn DIpLOMA

We offer a range of English and Maths programmes for adult learners to help develop your skills and transform your lives at home and work.

Courses run throughout the day and in the evening. They are part-time so that you can fit your study around your life and work.

The Work Life skills (Aspirations) programme offers courses for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. We have courses to help you improve your reading, writing, communication and number skills.

Our courses are split into three pathways – Catering, Arts & Culture and Work-based learning. The pathway modules include: shopping and cooking, the café project, music and culture, dance, gardening, ICT, literacy, numeracy, enterprise, advocacy, psD, travel training, history, work-based learning, healthy living, drama, media, textiles and sports.

Each pathway runs for 1 1/2 days per week so you can fit college in around the rest of your week. You will work with the tutor to decide what the most suitable pathway is for you. You will have a personal tutor and you will be able to decide what you want to improve on. You will be working towards an externally accredited qualification.

Each class has 7-10 students with a teacher and a learning mentor. You can have support in class and during the break and lunch times. We enrol most of our students in september.
