We’re always Listening...Got an idea you want

to share with us? Don’t wait! Here are three easy ways to tell us

what’s on your mind:

24 Hour-HotlineCall (630) 784-6199,

Suggestion BoxesJot down your comments and drop them in one of the suggestion boxes in the lobby at the Simkus Recreation

Center and the Aldrin Community Center.

Small changes can add up to a big difference, so we’ve made a few small changes to our program guides this season, to add up to big difference to the environment.

Fewer trees: we’re saving trees by reducing the number of pages in our guides and using recycled paper from sustainable forests.

Easier to recycle: gloss paper is harder to recycle, so we’ve switched from a gloss to a matte

cover to make our guides better for recycling.

Less energy: our guides are now cold-set printed, which means the ink dries naturally instead of under energy intensive heaters.

Less chemicals: by using eco-friendly soy ink, fewer chemicals are needed to print our program guides.

You can help our guides become even greener. When the season’s over, don’t trash them, recycle them!

Harvest your rainwaterPut your rainwater to good use by installing a water barrel on your downspout. Using rainwater

for your garden can reduce your water bill, and it’s better for your plants than tap water.

Start compostingCreate your own mulch for next spring with a compost heap. Composting leaves, vegetable

scraps and even coffee grounds is great for your garden and keeps waste out of the landfill.

ditch the plasticThrowing a party in the fall? Go green by switching from plastic utensils to biodegradable,

wooden cutlery and recyclable paper plates.

Go solarCut your electricity bill by using a solar powered battery charger to power up your cell phone,

iPod and other gadgets.

Chicago Workout TourEach week Fitness Center and MyChoice members workout while learning about some of Chicago’s highlights, structures and monuments in the great City of Chicago. The total mileage of the Chicago Workout Tour is 48 miles. This means you need to work out a total of 8 miles per week in order to hit the final destination, YOU CAN DO IT! Reach the total mileage per week and be entered into a drawing for a free two night stay at the Chicago Hilton in downtown Chicago. How it Works: 1. Fitness Center and MyChoice Members will accumulate two

miles each time they use the Fitness Center or participate in a MyChoice Fitness Class.

2. In order to receive credit for your miles, scan your card in the Fitness Center or Fitness Room.

3. A usage report will be printed weekly so that progress can be posted on the Chicago Workout Tour board located in the Fitness Center.
