ADDENDUM NO.1

ASBESTOS ABATEMENT, DEMOLITION, SITE CLEARANCE,

BACKFILL AND GRADING OF 68 TEAMSTERS DRIVE

ISSUE DATE: September 19, 2017

The following additions, deletions, and/or modifications to the Bidding and Contract documents shall be included in, and become part of any contract which may be executed for the City of Youngstown’s ASBESTOS ABATEMENT, DEMOLITION, SITE CLEARANCE, BACKFILL AND GRADING OF 68 TEAMSTERS DRIVE. Prospective Bidders are therefore instructed to include the following considerations in rendering any bid for work to be included under the Contract. The Addendum shall be acknowledged on the attached form. Acknowledgement must be included in bid submittal.

ITEM 1: Pre-Bid Meeting Agenda and Sign in Sheet The Pre-Bid Meeting Agenda and Sign-in Sheets are included as Exhibit 1 ITEM 2: Clarification Foundation(s) Removal – Clarification Building foundations shall be removed to “native” soils unless otherwise directed. All building foundations shall be removed to native soils, unless the basement/foundation abuts an existing sidewalk, parking lot or roadway. In this case the building foundations/partial basement walls shall remain in place along (Sidewalk, Teamsters Drive, Lilac Street, the McRoyal Industries parking lot, and the existing building – Blue Block, not part of the project) to prevent any existing sidewalk, roadway or parking lot from collapsing into the demolished building voids. The building basement walls shall be removed to 18-inches below the existing ground elevations, in areas which abut an existing sidewalk, roadway or parking lot and backfilled to match the grading plan elevations for that area of the site. Any walls/foundations which do not abut any existing infrastructure shall be removed and disposed of as demolition debris.

Floor Slab Removal – Clarification In areas of the site where the basement walls and foundations must remain in place to prevent failure of existing adjacent infrastructure (sidewalks, roadways or parking lot) the building floor slab(s) may be broken up and remain in place to prevent water from accumulating in the basement. In areas where the walls and foundation do not abut existing infrastructure, the floor slabs are to be removed and disposed offsite with demolition debris.

ITEM 3: Revised Bid Proposal Form REPLACE pages with the attached Revised Bid Proposal Form included as Exhibit 2.

ITEM 4: Revised Grading Plan Revised Grading Plan is included as Exhibit 3. ITEM 5: Bid Opening Date and Time The Bid Opening Date and Time remains Monday September 25, 2017 at Noon.
