3BL 76305 BCAA QSZZA Edition 03 RELEASED 6/29
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Document Purpose This document contains a number of test sheets and applicable test sequence for commissioning of the Alcatel 1342 QoSAC (full delivery, not for upgrade). Commissioning consists in checking that the "stand-alone" Alcatel 1342 QoSAC delivery is complete and Alcatel 1342 QoSAC is operational by itself, regardless of OMC/NEs installation/commissioning. It follows Alcatel 1342 QoSAC installation, and can be seen as a pre-requisite to acceptance in a full network context. Therefore, this document does not cover full acceptance of Alcatel 1342 QoSAC that must be covered by network acceptance tests. Note Whether some of these test sheets are executed or not is left to the decision of the person carrying
out the tests. This person may also run their own tests provided that they do not damage the Alcatel 1342 QoSAC or adversely affect ALCATEL's "installation and customization" service.
1.2 Document Scope This document is applicable for Alcatel 1342 QoSAC R2.2. Note Some features may be in restriction, and therefore related test cases will be considered as not
applicable.
1.3 Duration and pre-requisites Tests described below are estimated at four days Alcatel staff in charge of commissioning must be experienced in Alcatel 1342 QoSAC administration/operation, and have a clear understanding of all documents specific to the delivery, in particular: − Administration and user guides (See Ref [4], [5] [5]). − Full Backup/Restore guides (See Ref [6])
1.4 Document Conventions The following conventions are used throughout the document.
1.4.1 Type Styles Different type styles, or fonts, have been used to distinguish between specific elements. − bold characters
Represent essential words and are used to emphasise or to introduce new terms. − bold courier character font
Represent characters that the installer has to type on the keyboard, usually HP-UNIX commands or answers in interactive steps.
− courier character font Represent the system response that is displayed on a monitor or terminal screen. Courier font is also used for command names, for file listing and for session output.

− italic courier character font Used for variable input or output and must be replaced with suitable values.
1.4.2 Symbols The following symbols are used throughout the document. − ">” or “root>“ represents the UNIX prompt. − "[" and "]" symbols delimit keys and graphical push buttons. Note [Control]+[C] indicates you have to push and hold on the [Control] key first, push and relax the [C]
key, and then relax the [Control] key.

20 END OF COMMISSIONING When acceptance tests are completed, you must leave the Alcatel 1342 QoSAC as ready for Network Acceptance, without any undue NE or Operator or other data you may have introduced during the tests. For this, you have to remove Site, Nes, templates, supervisions and/or Operators that you have declared. The Alcatel commissioning tester must warn the customer (and Alcatel support staff) about the need to organize the data back-up policy. This policy should be enforced after full network acceptance is performed and required NEs are created. Refer to User Documentation: − "Alcatel 1342 QoSAC Administration Guide" <See Ref [4]>
