What is the E-Commerce Department responsible for? ● EDI (including flat files/ABBYY)with customers, suppliers,

brokers and groups● Synchronization of electronic item data with Suppliers and

Customers through the GDSN. ● This includes the Marketing and Nutritional data and images on

the Dot Expressway.● Item data and bar code accuracy.

● The E-Commerce department utilizes industry standards to automate business processes and reduce Dot’s operating expenses as well as increase efficiencies throughout the supply chain. Because of this we not only contribute to the success of Dot Foods but also to the success of Dot’s business partners.

FlexiCapture for PO’sDot’s FlexiCapture Needs:● In 2008, Dot needed to automate inbound faxed PO’s

for customers who couldn’t use EDI or flat files● We wanted our CSR’s to get away from data entry and

concentrate on customer service

Dot’s FlexiCapture Project

● Faxed PO’s come in through FastFax to CSR’s as PDF’s. ● The CDR then drops the PO into a HotFolder on their desktop

for ABBYY to process.● Recognition automatically runs, and the batch is then sent to

our Order Entry Department for Verification.● When the batch is completed, the data is exported to a flat file

that is automatically written into our back end system as if it was a traditional EDI PO.

Dot’s FlexiCapture Impact● Went from 60 CSR’s manually keying these PO’s down to…● 2 Order Entry Clerks doing Verification with FlexiCapture.
