  • Hi, Siu Kwan,

It is good to hear from you! Hows school? Its snowing here. I love the snow!

I cant wait to go to Hong Kong. I miss the mouthwatering wonton noodles and tasty curry fishballs in Hong Kongs food stalls. Even though I ate too much and got a stomachache last time, I still want to eat more when I come in February!

  • Thank you for the cute pictures of your kitten. I have also attached some pictures of my doggie, Dippy. Thank you for asking how my family is doing. My dad is very busy and works from Monday to Saturday. My mom takes good care of me at home. They promise to take me to Disneyland in Tokyo if I do well on my exams. I am studying hard because I really want to go there.

  • Ok, about your school project. You asked me about the food we eat in Japan. Most days we have white rice with some meat or small fish. We eat this with my favourite pickled vegetables and miso soup. Most of the time, my mom cooks for us. We sit on a tatami mat to eat.

  • It will be New Year soon and we will eat special food. On New Years Eve we always eat noodles. We eat long noodles because we believe it will bring us long life. On New Years Day we eat black beans and special soup with rice cakes. My favourite New Years food is red fish. We eat red fish because red stands for good luck.

  • What do you eat during New Year? Do you eat long noodles too? Please write soon. I am interested in learning more about Chinese culture!

    Cheers, Hiroko
