Cindy in the photo with Christian at Jack's mom's in 5.11.Kaname T. being on Locke's list of returnees from Claire in 5.8.Sun meeting with Daniel in 5.11.Kate telling Jack that Cassidy has custody of Aaron now in 5.11.John ripping the pages out of the Scripture in 5.12.

1) INT. KATE'S CELL. LYNWOOD WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. LA. EVENING.

The camera opens on a shot of the bars of the jail cell from the inside looking out. Thecamera pans and does a 180 but Kate isn't seen. The lights in the cell are shut off. Thecamera pans downwards into the corner and there is Kate, huddled up in the corner withher knees in her chest up against the wall. She looks horribly upset, but isn't crying. There

are tears in her eyes as she looks down at the handcuffs that she is still wearing. She rubsher wrists and the camera shows them. They are very red and cut up. Kate looks at them asa single tear streams down her face and as the flash sound begins...

2) --FLASH-- BEACH. ISLAND. DAY.

Kate is being escorted away from the breakfast table that Ben had set up for her on thebeach in 3.1. Tom and Kate reach the end of the walkway where they stop. Tom tightensKate's handcuffs and puts a bag over her head once again. Kate struggles.

Kate:

Where are you taking me?! What are you doing?!

Tom:

Kate... just stay relaxed. I don't like this any more than you do.

Kate:

Then why are you doing this to us?!

Tom:

I like you Kate, I want to keep it that way.

Tom leads Kate away as Ivan, the African-American doctor that drugged Cindy alongsideHarper in 5.2 walks up. Ivan is wearing a surgical Dharma coat. The scene cuts to black.

3) --FLASH CON'T-- INT. SURGERY ROOM. HYDRA. DAY.

The camera now shows pure blackness, which is Kate's Point of View from inside of theblack bag. There is no visual, but Kate begins screaming bloody murder as if she is beingtortured. We can hear voices in-between Kate's screams, but can not hear them.

Woman (clearly Juliet):

Syringe... please, Ivan!

Ivan:

Sorry... here.

Juliet:

Damn it Ivan, this has to be timed perfectly... I need your cooperation!

Kate starts screaming again as the shot now shows just her wrists, which are individuallyhandcuffed to two separate metal poles on each side of her. Kate is violently struggling tofree herself from the situation and causes her wrists to bleed. The camera now shows justJuliet's face as she looks a bit upset about all of Kate's screams. Juliet then rips her surgicalmask off in haste and throws it on the floor as she turns and looks up at the SurgeryViewing room (where Tom watched Ben's surgery in 3.6 "I Do."). Standing there is Harperand Ben watching whatever it is that Juliet just did. Juliet storms out of the room into thehall. Ben comes down the stairs and tries to grab Juliet's arm as she walks away with a verymad/upset face. She pulls away and turns to him. There is a moment of pure hateexchanged from Juliet to Ben through Juliet's stare then suddenly she slaps Ben across theface.

Juliet:

When I signed up with you, this is NOT what I had in mind that I'd be doing...

Ben:

It was necessary, Juliet. You know this...

Juliet:

Necessary, what I just did in there, necessary?! I want to go home, Ben... I want to gohome NOW.

Tears start to form in Juliet's eyes. Ben just looks at Juliet, rather emotionless. Julietlooks at Ben and hatefully says:

Juliet:

Juliet walks down the hall and out the doors. Harper walks up behind Ben.

Harper:

I told...

Ben:

Shut up, Harper... Tend to Austen...

Ben gives Harper a dirty look then walks out of the hall. The camera cuts to black.

4) --FLASH CON'T-- EXT. OUTSIDE THE CAGES. HYDRA. DAY.

Harper, Tom, Kate and a few "others" lead Kate to the end of the path where Tom takesoff Kate's hood. Her eyes, which are bloodshot and face wet with tears, adjust as she sees

Tom standing with Harper. Harper steps forward towards Kate and says in a sinceremanner:

Harper:

I know what you just experienced is... horrible. It is the absol....

Kate interjects and spits directly into Harper's face. Harper stands there stunned for amoment, then simply turns and walks off not saying a word. She looked obviously insulted.Tom cracks a smile at Kate and says:

Tom:

I don't like her much either. She thinks I like men because I have "Daddy Issues."

Kate doesn't seem like she even heard a word Tom said. He looks down and the scenefrom here on out is the same we saw in 3.1 "Tale of Two Cities" where Tom escorts Kate toher cage.

Tom:

Stick your arms out through the bars. I'll take off your cuffs. They scratched you up prettybad, didn't they? I'll bring you some anti-septic later.

Sawyer:

How about you bring me an ottoman? While you're at it I could use a blow dry.

The camera cuts to Kate's face. Where she looks utterly defeated and hurt in the worstpossible way. The camera then shows Kate looking down at her wrists, which are all cut upas the flash sound begins...

5) --END OF FLASH-- INT. KATE'S CELL. LYNWOOD WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.LA. EVENING.

Kate sits there, with tears falling down her face, looking at her hands in the handcuffs.Out of nowhere, Kate goes into a hysterical rage screaming and crying as she tries to pullher hands out of the cuffs. She bangs her hands off the corner of the slab/bed in the cellscreaming:

Kate:

Why?! Why the hell?! Why me?!

Kate finally calms down and slumps back to the floor, wrists bleeding, when a guardwalks up to the cell bars. Kate looks up with her face covered in tears as the guard says:

Guard:

You have a visitor.

Kate:

I don't want to see anyone...

Guard:

You may want to see this one.

Before Kate can get a single word out, a man walks up to the bars. Kate looks up and hercell lights are turned on. It is revealed that it is Sam Austen, Kate's father. Her eyesbrighten as she sees him... she seems in shock as the music builds...

Kate:

Dad?

Sam Austen:

Hi, Katie.

The music builds and the look of shock on Kate's face builds and...

LOST

6) INT. HIDEOUT HOUSE. LA. NIGHT.

Hurley is sitting on the couch watching late night TV, Jimmy Kimmel to be exact. He iseating chips and laughing really hard as Ben sits at the desk in the corner seeminglywracking his brain over something. He looks very annoyed at Hurley's lack of having a carein the world. Ben turns around sharply and says:

Ben:

Could you, PLEASE, quit chewing so loud and turn off the damn television.

Hurley stops what he is doing and darts a look at Ben.

Hurley:

Dude, not having TV on the island really musta sucked, huh?

Ben:

Not really, Hugo. It made us actually use our heads to think of more creative things to do...

Hurley:

Oh... you mean kidnap pregnant women and order fake beards online to fool 10 year oldboys...

Ben looks at Hurley like he is an idiot. Hurley looks at Ben with a "I so burned you face."Ben stands up and gets his coat. Hurley watches Ben's every move.

Hurley:

Where you going?

Ben:

Sayid hasn't been back since this morning... something isn't right.

Ben walks towards the door and on the way he stops to grab the chips away from Hurley.Hurley tries to grab them as Ben walks out the door with them.

Hurley:

Dude, I was eating those...

Ben snaps back sarcastically:

Ben:

Dude, you're always eating... give it a break...

Ben walks out the door and Hurley just stares at the door as if he had just had his babystolen from him.

Hurley:

Jerk.

The camera focuses on the TV where Jimmy Kimmel is doing stand up at the start of theshow.

Jimmy Kimmel:

Did you hear about the man on the Oceanic flight yesterday who got bent out of shapebecause they weren't serving the in-flight dinner?..... Turns out the Oceanic Representativeheld a press conference today saying they apologize, but they are still stock-piling food from

when Hugo Reyes cleaned them out 4 years ago on 815...

The audience roars with applause and laughter as the camera pans back to Hurley's face

who's jaw is dropped and looks horrified from embarrassment.

Hurley:

So not cool, dude...

7) EXT. NEAR CAR. HIDEOUT HOUSE. NIGHT.

Ben picks up his cell phone and he dials. The ring goes straight to voicemail. It is Sayid'svoice saying, "I am unable to take your call, leave a message and I will call you as soon as Iam free to do so." Ben snaps his phone shut and looks off into the distance where we cansee the LA skyline. He gets into his car and slams the door.

8) INT. WAREHOUSE. LA. NIGHT.

Sayid is looking at his phone as he continues to shut it. He looks up at Abaddon who issitting there looking a bit uneasy for the first time we've ever seen.

Sayid:

It was Benjamin again. We have to act... now.

Abaddon takes a moment to think then says:

Abaddon:

Call Linus and tell him to meet you in seclusion. Tell him you have substantial news. Thentake care of the situation. I'll meet you in the office in 4 hours.

Sayid:

And you... what will you be doing?

Abaddon:

I will be taking care of our other problem. I'm sure Shephard knows nearly everything thereis to know by now... assuming he was smart enough to break into my car and get my

laptop.

Sayid:

Hopefully he let his emotions get in the way of his judgement and overlooked theopportunity. It wouldn't be the first time.

Abaddon gets up and walks out of the warehouse. Sayid picks up his cell and dials. Benanswers:

Ben:

Sayid, where the hell are you?

Sayid:

I've got information. Me meet in the North Hills spot in 30 minutes.

Sayid hangs up his phone and walks towards the exit.

9) EXT. JACK'S BEAT UP JEEP. BACK ALLEY. NIGHT.

Jack is sitting in his jeep, staring out the window into the alley with his hand in his head.Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" is playing on the radio.

Lyrics:

As these lyrics play out this scene takes place: The camera pans down beside him wherewe see a laptop opened. The file that is open is shown very quickly, but Alvar Hanso's nameis mentioned several times in bold and there are pictures of Ben Linus opened beside the

document on the laptop. Jack turns and shuts the laptop with a SLAM! The camera thenshows a full bottle of vodka sitting behind the laptop. Jack looks at it and goes to grab it. Heopens it and as he is doing this he spills a bit of it on the laptop. He hurries and puts thebottle down and opens the laptop to make sure it is working. He sees it is and heaccidentally hits a button on it. When doing this a photo of Kate and Aaron pop up on thescreen. The photo is obviously a photo from someone spying on them when they were atthe playground. Jack looks at it closely then hits the enter button. Another photo of Aaronpops up. Jack hits another button and another photo of Aaron. Jack looks very angry andshoves the laptop aside. He picks up the vodka bottle and it looks like he is about to drink,but instead he whips it out the window and SMASH, it shatters against the wall of a building.

Jack turns and takes out a folder, which has an address on it. 4223 Charles Street, LA. Heturns up the song as he peels out of the alley.

10) INT. KATE'S CELL. LYNWOOD WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. LA. NIGHT.

Kate stands up and walks to the bars on the cell. Sargent Austen nods and the guard

walks away. He looks at Kate and takes her wrist. He looks at the blood from her panicattack and takes out a cloth from his military jacket and wipes her wrists clean.

Sam:

Katie... sweet Katie... what have you done with yourself?

Kate looks down then back up sharply at Sam.

Kate:

You haven't bothered to see me since I got back... why now?!

Sam:

You are still my daughter, Kate.

Kate:

No!... I'm not...

Sam:

You'll always be my little girl who refused the training wheels on her bike... (he chuckles)No matter how many times you scraped your elbows...

Kate:

I'm not that little girl anymore, dad.

Sam:

No, but here I am cleaning up your cuts again...

Kate looks down and her face is tired.

Sam:

Your mother died, Katie... this morning.

Kate shoots a look upwards at Sam. She looks like she is in disbelief.

Kate:

Is it because... my... I was on the news?

Sam:

No, it was before the arrest was made public....

Kate walks back to her bed and sits down. It looks as if she doesn't know how to take thenews.

Sam:

I know you had your problems with her... but Kate, you aren't her... you, well, you are agood mother.

Kate looks up at him like he must be joking.

Sam:

For God's sake, Kate... you gave birth on a deserted island! You kept your son alive throughthe toughest of situati....

Kate interrupts him and stands up in haste saying:

Kate:

No! I didn't! You're right though, dad... I'll never be like mom...

Sam:

Kate... but you...With the most sternest and serious of looks, Kate says:

Kate:

No, dad. I'm not a mother... and I never will be!

The camera shows Kate's face as she stairs adamantly at Sam as the flash soundbegins...

11) --FLASH-- EXT. ISLAND. DAY.

The scene picks up from where Juliet is talking to Pickett in 3.6 "I Do" where Juliet walksover to Kate and says:

Juliet:

I would like you to put this on, and come with me. Please.

Kate:

You think I'm going to put a hood over my head because you said please?

Juliet:

No Kate. I think you're going to put a hood over your head because the man standingbehind me, the one who's burning a hole in my back? That man is going to kill Sawyer. Butif you put this on, and you come with me, there's something you can do for us that will save

his life.

Kate puts the hood on and the scene cuts to the path on the way to the Hydra Stationwhere Jack is being held. Juliet stops and removes the hood from Kate's head. Kate standsthere looking at Juliet.

Juliet:

Sorry, I had to do that for show... you know... to make myself look like a complete hard-ass.

Juliet smirks, but Kate isn't buying it. Juliet looks down and pulls out a few papers out ofher bag. She hands them to Kate.

Kate:

What's this?

Juliet:

It's... it's the results from when you had your... (she swallows hard)... procedure...

Kate looks up furiously at Juliet.

Kate:

Procedure?! That's what you people call what you did to me?!

Juliet:

I didn't like it anymore that you did Kate, in fact, I slapped Ben across the face after I didit...

Kate:

Why should I care...

Juliet:

Because I thought you should know...

Kate looks down at the papers. She looks back up at Juliet as if she is lost. Juliet takesnote of this.

Juliet:

I'm not going to show Ben these results. If I did, well... he would probably just kill you andSawyer.

Kate:

What? Why?!

Juliet:

Because I'm going to make sure he thinks that he needs the both of you. That you will endup having sex with Sawyer... on your own free will.

Kate:

What?! Look, you lost me lady...

Juliet:

Kate... you can't have children.

The camera shows Kate's face and Kate just stares at Juliet.

Juliet:

You're sterile because of a rare blood disorder that won't harm you personally, but it doesn'tallow your ovaries to produce eggs...

Kate:

You're telling me that... I can never have children?

Juliet:

No... you never will. I'm very sorry, Kate.... And, if Ben finds this out, he has no real needfor you anymore...

The camera shows Kate's face as she looks back down at the papers then back up atJuliet. Her face looks very tired and sad. The flash sound begins...

12) ---END OF FLASH--- INT. KATE'S CELL. LYNWOOD WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.LA. NIGHT.

Sam just looks at Kate, who is staring back at him. He looks down, then back up at her.

Sam:

So, Aaron isn't yours?

Kate:

No... but his mother would have wanted me to take care of him.

Sam:

I don't know what to say to you Kate...

There is a pause.

Sam:

Other than... that I'm proud of you.

Kate looks like she was expecting disapproval, but in fact, her father has never lookedmore proud. Sam hugs Kate through the bars as soft music plays and the camera fades toblack while it shows Kate smiling and crying tears of joy for the first time in a while.

--commercial--

13) ---FLASH--- INT. KATE'S L.A. HOME. DAY.

Kate walks over to her desk in the corner of the room and she picks up a notebook. Shethen picks up the phone and dials a number. The camera pans down and we see that thenumber she just dialed is for Mittelos Bioscience!! A woman answers the phone and Katesays:

Kate:

Hello? Is this Mittelos Bioscience?

Woman:

....Yes... this is Diana speaking.

Kate pauses at the name Diana, which is almost her mother's name. It is also the realname of the woman Juliet spoke to on the phone in "Not in Portland."

Diana:

How did you get this number?

Kate:

Oh, I have a friend who referred me... I was told you guys specialize in fertility.

Diana:

Yes, we do... can I have your name?

Kate:

Yes, it is Monica Giana...

Diana:

How can I help you Monica?

Kate:

I was wondering where you are located.

Diana:

We are located out of Portland, Oregon.

Kate:

... is that your only location? Don't you have something in south Florida?

Diana:

No, we don't... (there is a long pause)... Please, Ms. Giana, I'm going to put you on hold.

Diana puts Kate on hold and Kate looks back to Arron who is playing with his toyMillennium Falcon. Kate looks down. She then looks at a photo of Sawyer she printed off theInternet from the coverage of the plane crash from a news station. Diana comes back ontothe phone.

Diana:

Monica, can you please tell me who referred you?

Kate:

His name is James Ford.

Diana:

Oh? Hold again, please...

The call is placed on hold again, but this time it is quickly picked back up, but this time aman's voice is on the other end.

Man:

Who did you say you were again?

Kate:

Monica Giana.

Man:

Well, Monica, I'm sorry, but we can't help you. Goodbye.

Kate hangs up the phone and sits it down. She looks back at the photo of Sawyer thenback at Aaron as the flash sound begins...

14) --END OF FLASH-- EXT. HOUSE. LA. NIGHT.

Jack quietly shuts the door to his jeep and walks towards a house. He sneaks up to thewindow and peers in, but sees nothing except a light on in the living room. He walks aroundto the side of the house and looks into another window where he peers in. Inside, he sees awoman tucking a child into bed then quietly leaving the room. When the woman turns toshut the light off, we see that it is Cassidy Phillips. She closes the door. Shortly there-after,Jack pushes on the window to the room. It is unlocked and it slides open. Jack carefullyremoves the screen and sits it next to the house. He pokes his head in and he sees Aaronlaying in the bed. Jack eases his way through the window and as he does this he steps onAaron's Millennium Falcon which he stepped on in 4.10. Jack's eyes get big as he isobviously make some noise as he says through his teeth:

Jack:

Damn it... this thing is gonna kill me.

Jack kicks the toy out of the way. He hears someone coming in the hallway so he gets

down and attempts to hide. There is a shadow under Aaron's door which stops for amoment... then keeps on going. Jack rushes over to Aaron's bed and gently nudges him.Aaron wakes up and says:

Aaron:

Daddy?

Jack:

Shhhh... yeah, buddy... it's me. Come on, we're gonna go for a ride in my old car you like...

Without saying anything Jack picks Aaron up out of the bed and walks towards the

window. He lowers Aaron out then proceeds after him. The two, hand in hand, with Aaronstill in his pajamas with no shoes, quickly walk towards Jack's car.

15) INT. HIDEOUT HOUSE. NIGHT.

Hurley is asleep on the couch with the TV still on with some infomercial about maleimpotence. Sayid comes in and he looks over at the TV and squints in a weirded out waythen looks over at Hurley with the same expression. Sayid walks over to Hurley and nudgeshim awake. Hurley wakes up in a rush and says:

Hurley:

Paulo hid them?!

Sayid looks at Hurley strangely as Hurley regains a sense of where he is... he takes amoment then looks up at Sayid with a serious look.

Hurley:

Dude, I think we made a huge mistake with Nikki and Paulo...

Sayid, this time with a confused face, looks at Hurley, but dismisses what he saidcompletely. He gets very serious as he says to Hurley:

Sayid:

Come on, we have to get out of here before Ben gets back...

Hurley:

Why, man?!

Sayid:

I have no time to explain, just get your shoes on and let's go...

Just then, the living room light is turned on and Sayid looks up to see who had turned iton. Standing there is Ben.

Ben:

I think you should answer Hugo's question...

Sayid, rather shocked, looks up at Ben.

Sayid:

I was getting Hurley then we were going to meet you...

Ben:

Sayid, you may know how to torture the truth out of someone, but when it comes to lying...torture wouldn't be necessary with you.

Hurley:

What's going on?

Ben:

Sayid has crossed us, Hugo.

Hurley looks up at Sayid.

Hurley:

I don't think he's Catholic, man...

Ben looks at Hurley like he is an idiot again...

Ben:

I don't mean crossed (Ben makes the Christian cross sign on himself in a quick annoyedway)... I mean, he.....(obviously dumbing it down) went to the dark side.

Hurley:

Ohhhhh.....

Sayid reaches for his gun as Ben rushes towards him. Ben pulls out his metal beatingstick and hits the gun out of Sayid's hand. The two fall to the ground as Sayid tackles Ben.Ben, still with his beating stick, hits Sayid square in the back with it and Sayid doubles overin pain. Ben quickly stands up, but Sayid kicks his legs out from underneath him sendingBen onto the coffee table and breaking it. Hurley stands up quickly and rushes to the side ofthe room watching without know what to do. Sayid pulls Ben towards him and is about tolay a punch down as Ben reaches for a metal bowl that was on the table. Sayid is about tohit Ben when Ben knocks Sayid off of him with a CLANG of the metal bowl against the sideof Sayid's face. The two skirmish on the floor as Hurley spots the gun Sayid had dropped

and points it at the two men on the floor. He aims it back and forth between the two like hedoesn't know who to shoot at.

Hurley:

Dudes! STOP!

Hurley aims the gun upwards and fires. BANG! Chunks of the ceiling fall down onto Hurleyas Sayid and Ben stop and look at Hurley. Dogs from the neighborhood are barking outside.

Ben:

Thanks for alerting the police, Hugo!!

Sayid takes the opportunity to punch Ben in the face. BAM, Ben is out cold. Sayid jumpsto his feet and grabs some papers off the desk. He then picks up Hurley's shoes and throwsthem at him.

Sayid:

Let's go! I'll explain in the car!

Hurley hesitantly picks up the shoes and runs out the door after Sayid. The camera pansonto Ben, who is passed out, as the music builds and the camera cuts abruptly to black.

17) INT. HIDEOUT HOUSE. LA. NIGHT.

The camera shows Ben laying there, on the ground, starting to wake up. Out of nowhere,Jack busts through the door with Aaron in tow. Ben looks up, surprised to see Jack.

Ben:

Jack?

Jack:

What the hell happened here?

Ben:

Sayid came in ...(sits up and brushes the blood from his lip) stole Hugo.

Ben looks at Aaron.

Ben:

How do you have him?

Jack:

Well... I stole him.

Ben:

Huh... no wonder L.A.P.D. can't solve any crimes...

Jack:

I need to come clean.

Ben:

About?

Jack:

Matthew Abaddon.

Ben stands up and walks over to his desk. He notices Sayid took his papers. He lookspissed as he sits down.

Ben:

You too huh?

Jack:

Yeah, look, we teamed up in the beginning and it...

Ben interrupts:

Ben:

It all went wrong... yeah, he's not the good guy Jack. He never was.... now he has Sayid,Hurley and probably is working on getting Sun and Kate as we speak...

Jack:

What does he want with us?

Jack shows Ben the laptop.

Jack:

Why does he need all of us except me or you?

Ben:

Well, Jack... he wants to get back to the island without us because we would screw thingsup for the DS.

Jack pauses as if in thought...

Jack:

The DS? Sarah told me that Cindy and my father were meeting about something with theDS... what is it?

Ben:

I don't have time to explain it, but they want the island, and all the plans that Richard and I

had to stop them, to fail. Don't you see Jack? The future of everything rests on us... me andyou. That is why they don't want us there.

Jack looks a bit confused at the whole thing.

Ben:

But luckily, you got to Aaron before they did. They need Aaron too.

Jack:

Well, where are they going?

Ben:

I'm not sure, but I guess its a good thing I put a tracking device on Sayid's car, now isn't it?

18) EXT. SAYID'S CAR. LA FREEWAY. NIGHT.

The camera shows the tracking device that Ben planted on Sayid's car flashing under theback bumper. The camera then pans to the inside where Sayid is driving like a maniacthrough the freeways of LA. Hurley, a bit edgy about the way Sayid is driving, looks at himwith a puzzled look on his face.

Hurley:

Where we going?

Sayid:

I'm taking you to safety.

Hurley:

Safety? I was in the comfort of the house watching late night TV asleep on the couch... thenyou bust in and have wrestle-mania with Ben... I'm starting to think that when you're

around there is no such thing as safety, dude...

Sayid:

I'm getting you out of here. We're going to a place where we will meet with someone whocan get us back to the island to save our friends.

Hurley:

What about Jack and Ben? Don't we need them too?

Sayid:

Hurley:

Then why did we take them to Antarctica with us?

Sayid:

Trust me, Jack and Ben weren't going to get on that plane...

Hurley:

Ok, dude, you're starting to scare me... what about Desmond? He's probably back inEngland by now.... and Kate?! She's in lock-up?!

Sayid:

Hurley... please... I have a headache... it will all be taken care of, just sit back and try to

relax.

Hurley:

I'm done relaxing, Sayid... all I do is relax and enjoy the ride!! And I'm sick of it!!

With that, Hurley grabs the wheel away from Sayid and the car goes careening off of theroad and onto the side shoulder of the freeway narrowly missing a big-rig truck. Sayidslams on the breaks and the car finally comes to a halt. Sayid, rather angry, looks atHurley, who is a bit in shock of what he just did, and punches Hurley in the face. BAM!!Hurley is knocked out.

Sayid:

Sorry, good friend, but right now is not the time to take charge of the situation...

19) INT. KATE'S CELL. LYNWOOD WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. LA. MORNING.

Kate slowly awakes to find a guard standing over her. She jumps in shock as the guardsays:

Guard:

Looks like you're a popular girl... you got another visitor waiting for you out there...

Kate starts to get out of bed as the camera cuts to Kate and the Guard walking down thehallway to the visitor's room. The guard unlocks the door and a handcuffed Kate makes herway through the door. She looks around, but sees no-one. The guard points Kate in theright direction. She looks up and she sees Kevin Callis sitting there, looking at her. Kate'seyes widen. She attempts to fix her hair as she walks over towards Kevin, who stands uponce Kate gets close. She motions for him to sit and she sits down across from him.

Kate:

I... wasn't expecting it to be you... (she chuckles nervously).

Well, Kate, I wasn't expecting you to drug me then walk out on me out of the clear blue...

Kate looks down.

Kate:

What brings you here, Kevin?

Kevin:

Well, I got your message a few months ago... you remember, the one from you ,out ofnowhere, asking me to look into a matter for you in Florida... The message where you didn'tbother to apologize for the horrible things you did to me... the message where I didn't even

realize who Kate Austen was until I remembered I saw your face all over the news a fewyears ago because of your... well, incident... That was a real feel good moment for me, you

know? Seeing the woman I loved plastered all over TV because she was stranded on a

deserted island for 3 months after vanishing from my life... What the hell were youthinking?

Kate:

I wasn't...

Kevin:

No, you weren't... you know, I found the negative pregnancy test in the garbage when Ifinally came to... Is that what that was all about? You were afraid you'd be stuck with me if

you were pregnant?

Kate:

No, that wasn't it... I loved you Kevin. I really did. The Marshal... Edward Mars... he finallycaught up to me. I thought that... it would be easier on you if I just left. You would have felt

like such a fool if you married a fugitive. I mean, you're a cop.

20) --FLASH-- INT. JULIET'S COTTAGE. NEW OTHERTON. DAY.

The scene picks up from 4.4 "Eggtown" when Sawyer and Kate are in bed arguing.

Sawyer:

Beach? What, you're leaving? Because of this? That's that? You crawl up in my bed onesecond, and the next you just...

Kate:

Goodbye James...

Sawyer:

Don't make this about me, Kate. You didn't want a baby any more than I did. You're justlooking for some excuse to split, and now you got one. But it's alright, freckles, I ain't

gonna hold it against you. I'm just gonna sit right here in my comfy bed. Because in about aweek, you'll find some reason to get pissed at Jack and bounce right back to me.

Kate slaps Sawyer and storms out of the room. Sawyer throws himself back onto thebed. The camera cuts to Kate walking out of the house as Sawyer comes out of thebedroom with a sheet wrapped around his waist.

Sawyer:

Kate?! Stop... come on...

Kate turns around and there are tears falling down her face. Sawyer notices this andwalks over to her and hugs her close.

Sawyer:

Come on, tell me what this is all about... really... I don't like to see you cry.

Kate backs off and wipes the tears away from her face. She looks up at Sawyer and says:

Kate:

The reason I was so sure I'm not pregnant is because Juliet told me I can't have children...my eggs are no good.

Kate sits down and Sawyer sits down next to her... he comforts her in his arms.

Is she sure?

Kate:

She showed me the tests.

Sawyer:

And you really want to have kids someday, huh?

Kate:

I never thought about it... until she told me I couldn't.

Sawyer:

Look, Freckles... Jack's gonna get you off this rock right?

Kate:

Kate:

Kate runs out of the house as Sawyer watches her go and the flash sound begins...

The flash ends as Kate opens the folder and sees a photo of Sawyer on the inside. Shelooks up at Kevin.

Kevin:

Turns out, your friend there, was the guy that we caught in Tampa the day you left me.James "Sawyer" Ford. Looks like Oceanic must have some kind of ex-con discount, huh?

Kate smiles as she looks at Kevin.

Kate:

Thank you, Kevin. This means a lot to me.

Why do you want info on the Mittelos place anyway?... I mean, I did background researchinto it for you and... well... it never seems to have existed.

I sure hope they have taco night in here for ya...

Kate smiles as she walks back towards the cell... the flash sound begins again...

22) ---FLASH--- INT. HELICOPTER. DAY OF ISLAND ESCAPE. DAY.

Sawyer looks at Kate as he things about jumping from the helicopter.

Sawyer:

Hey!

Kate turns and looks at Sawyer who leans over and whispers to her (this time fullyaudible):

Sawyer:

Mittelos Bioscience in Miami.... for your baby problems... they can help you, I promise....

Sawyer stops and him and Kate share an intense moment.

Kate:

Why are you telling me this?!

Sawyer leans over and passionately kisses Kate.

Sawyer:

Just do it, Freckles...

Sawyer leaps from the helicopter.

Kate:

Sawyer!

Kate watches as Sawyer falls into the ocean. The camera fades to black.

Jack and Ben along with Aaron are parked outside of a high-rise building in downtownL.A. They are sitting in the car looking across the street at the building. Seems like therewere there for a long while. Aaron is in the backseat sleeping. Jack turns and looks at Aaronthen back at Ben.

Jack:

Why don't they need me or you, but they do need Aaron?

Ben:

You wouldn't believe me if I told you, Jack.

Jack:

Ben gets very serious.

Ben:

Jack, Il Destino Sinergia has been around for a long, long time. Basically, they see thefuture panning out a certain way... a way they feel that it needs to pan out in order for life

Yes... he believed in it. He believed that the numbers and the Valenzetti Equation wouldunlock the entire future. They did studies on the island with the numbers, in a station which

was under the Arrow.

Ben:

Jack, please, stay with me... Hanso funded the Dharma Initiative, he was leader of the DIand the head of the DS as well. Until one day, an equation didn't pan out the way they

wanted. Gary Troupe wrote all about it.

Ben:

It wasn't a coincidence he was on the plane that crashed onto the island, now is it? Well,Gary pointed something out that Valenzetti never noticed... a way to change the future. Therest of the DS didn't really like that idea too much... including Abaddon. Valenzetti fled from

the world and escaped to the island where we devised plans to change the future...

Jack:

Why would you want to change the future?

Ben:

We had good reasons, Jack.

Jack:

How, what was with the equation, how could you change it?

Ben:

The people on your flight. The people, Jack... especially the 6 of you who got off the island.In a way, each of you represent a number from the equation.

Jack:

Sayid ties Hurley up to a chair as Hurley asks:

You weren't cooperating, I had to for your own good.

To save everyone, Hurley... Ben wants to get back to the island to make a certain future... abad future. Without him and Jack, we can change that... Abaddon is part of this group, theDS, which have worked very hard to make sure Ben's future never comes to light. You've

seen what he is capable of... he has too much power, so me, Jack and Locke formed arogue team against Ben. This is for the betterment of everyone, Hurley... trust me.

Hurley:

I'm tied to a chair after you punched me out... I'm supposed to trust you?

Sayid looks down, he then pulls out his cell phone and starts sending a text message.

Hurley:

Who you texting?

Sayid:

Don't worry about it. You will see soon enough.

Sayid texts something then hangs up his phone.


Kate is sitting in her cell reading over the folder that Kevin brought her. The camerashows Sawyer's mug-shot next to a mugshot of a man named Hibbs, who escaped thescene and there is a warrant out for his arrest. The name Mittelos is throughout thedocument. Just then, a guard comes to Kate's cell and opens it. Kate looks up as the guardwalks in and says:

Guard:

Well, Ms. Austen, you are free to go...

Kate looks shocked and confused.

Guard:

Someone managed to have the judge let you out on bail... this time... let's not flee thecountry.

Kate smiles and she looks up waiting for who it is to show themselves. Kate's expressionis so happy, but it fades to uncertain as we see that the person who got her out is MatthewAbaddon.

Abaddon:

Hello, Kate.

Kate:

Who the hell are you?

Abaddon:

Well, that's not a nice way to greet the man who just set you free.

Abaddon motions for the guard to leave. The guard walks away.

Kate:

I'm sorry, I just... I don't know you is all...

Abaddon:

The name's Matthew Abaddon... we have a friend in common, Kate... actually a few, butone I know who really opened your eyes to something in your life... something that made

you change your mind.

Kate un-trustingly looks up at Abaddon as the flash sound begins...

26) --FLASH-- PLAYGROUND. OUTSIDE PARK. LA. DAY.

Kate is sitting outside on a bench sitting next to Cassidy. They are watching asClementine and Aaron (younger than present) play in the sandbox.

Cassidy:

So, I can't believe the judge just let you off with 10 years parole.

Kate:

Yeah, I think I have Aaron to thank for that.

Cassidy:

Yeah... it is so strange how small the world is... you were on the plane with Sawyer. When Isaw your picture on the news, I had to find you... you know, to ask about him.

Kate:

Ha, I know... not because we are old con buddies or anything though...

Cassidy:

That too! (they chuckle)

Just then, a man walks up behind Kate and Cassidy. Cassidy looks up and says to him:

Cassidy:

Uh, do you have a problem, sir?!

The camera pans up and it is John Locke!!!

Locke:

No, I was wondering if I could have a word with your friend here, in private.

Kate hears Locke's voice and she turns around shocked. Cassidy looks at Kate and asks:

Do you know this guy?

Kate:

Um... uh, yeah... he's a, he's my old friend...

Locke:

Jeremy Bentham... the name's Jeremy Bentham.

Kate, still massively shocked, composes herself and turns to Cassidy.

Kate:

I'll give you a call in a few days... all right?

Cassidy hugs Kate and goes to collect Clementine as John sits down next to Kate. She

stares at him in disbelief.

Kate:

Locke:

I'd love to stay and chat for a while, Kate, but I need to talk to you about going back to theisland.

Jesus, not this again... John..erm... Jeremy... I didn't realize it was you that Jack was tellingme about that we had to go back...

Locke:

Yes, Jack's alcoholic state makes it a bit difficult to take anything he says seriously. I assureyou though, everything he has said is true. He also told me that you won't change your

mind, but.... I have reason to believe that I do.

Kate:

I seriously doubt that, John...

Locke hands Kate a piece of crumpled up paper. It is the pages that he tore out of theScripture from the Temple in 5.12.

John:

It has recently come to my attention that you hold a great importance to everyone that youlove, Kate.

Kate:

What is this?

John:

It's your destiny...

Kate looks confused and she reads through it. It is a long paper. One line is "he will bewithout children, unable to conceive." Kate looks up at Locke.

Kate:

What is this, some kind of joke, John? It's not funny! Did Sawyer tell you about how Ican't...

Locke:

No, Kate... if you read on, it also says that 'he will kill his father.....he will be born ofEmily.....he will lead us to salvation...'

Kate:

I don't follow...

Locke:

Let me make this simple for you Kate...you are the true leader of the island.

Kate looks at John like he is crazy and the music builds...

My mother's name isn't Emily.

Locke hands Kate a document stating that Diana Janssen legally changed her name from

Emily Nadler in 1978 (as we saw in 5.8 w/Bernard). Kate looks at it in total surprise.

Locke:

I thought it was me, that I was the leader. Problem is, I didn't kill my father... Sawyer did.

Kate looks at Locke again like he is crazy.

Locke:

Long story... point is, Kate, that you need to go back. You are the key to saving all of ourfriends...

Kate:

I don't know what that hallucination paste you put on yourself did John, but you areinsane...

Locke:

In about a week, I'll be gone, Kate... you need to act now. You need to seriously thinkabout all of this. Kate, this is your chance at redemption...

Locke stands up and he begins to walk off leaving Kate sitting there in total shock as theflash sound begins...


Kate looks back up at Abaddon who smiles at her.

Abaddon:

Ah, I see you remember now...

Kate:

But he's dead... and you... I can't trust you.

Abaddon:

Kate, I'm going to take you to Jack, Aaron, Hugo, Sun... all of them. You're going back tothe island...

The music builds as Abaddon puts his hand out to help Kate up. She reluctantly reachesout and takes his hand.

Sun sits holding Ji Yeon as she looks across to Daniel, who is finally not wearing a skinnytie. She looks down in a bit of a haze then back up at Daniel.

Sun:

So, you're telling me that you saw it... you saw what lead us all here?

Daniel:

That's right, Sun... I know it's all a bit unbelievable, but... it's true. I saw it all with my owneyes.

Sun:

I can't... I mean, I believe you, but I didn't think it were possible...

Daniel:

I spent my whole life trying to develop it, but it turns out that it is easier than anything I've

ever worked up in my lab...

There is a knock on the door. Daniel looks down at his watch. He then looks back up atSun.

Daniel:

This must be him...

Daniel walks over to the door and opens it. In walks a Japanese man. Sun looks up athim and she does a double take...

Sun:

You?! You're Kaname Tanizaki?!

Sun has a flashback sequence to the events where she has seen Kaname. First is on thebeach, in the background. Second is when she was giving birth to Ji Yeon. He was the manin the doorway she mistaken for Jin. Lastly he is the man in 5.3 that she saw following herduring her secret meeting with Christine about Mr. Paik and Widmore.

Kaname:

My friends call me Steve.

The music builds and the camera shows the room from above all three of them looking ateach-other. The camera cuts abruptly to black.

29) EXT. UNKNOWN PLACE. LATE AFTERNOON.

We see a man's hand as it reaches into his pocket and pulls out a cell phone. He opens itand it says, "Come to LA, We're Going Back -Sayid." The man types out the text, "Be therefirst thing tomorrow." Then he sends it. He puts the phone back into his pocket as thecamera pans up to reveal a nurse's station. A nurse looks upwards and says:

The camera finally pans up and reveals that it is Desmond!!!

Desmond:

Ay, I know...

The camera cuts to him walking outside where Ms. Hawking is waiting for him. Shegiggles as she says:

I told you, Desmond... a single bullet to the head isn't going to do the trick. The islandwon't let you go that easily... Now come on, you've got work to do!

The camera focuses on the two of them walking towards the parking lot as the musicbuilds to a high dramatic point and...
