SurveySurveyIn order for us to gather feedback from our audience, I made a survey using http://surveymonkey.com/. The survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LL728XW) was made up of two pages; with the first page asking general questions such as “Are you male or female?”. The second page asked about our music video, digipak and advert.

Both Paul, Louise and myself sent the survey to around 60 people to a large amount of responses quickly, with ages ranging from 15-50 years old. Even though we sent the survey out to a large number of people, so far only 12 have replied.

Out of the 12 people who answered our survey, 10 were female and 2 were male. This is both a good and helpful result as the main target audience of our video, were women. This will allow us to find out what the view’s are of people who were not in our target audience, though it still would have been better had more men replied.

Question 2:Question 2:What genre of music are you most interested in?What genre of music are you most interested in?

The most popular genre was Pop, the second and third being R’n’B and Rock. Two people chose Classical and Indie, while one person chose House and another chose other. This is a good result as although the band consider their music to be alternative and jazz, they also consider it to be pop which was our audience’s most popular choice. This means that our audience will enjoy the song and video and hopefully purchase them.

Question 3:Question 3:What makes you purchase a certain single/albumWhat makes you purchase a certain single/album??

Seven people said they would purchase a certain single/album because their a fan of the singer/band, this isn’t the best result for us as our band is unknown but hopefully our audience will begin to like the band. Seven people also said they would purchase a certain single/album because they like the song, this is a very good result for us because even if our audience don’t like the band they would still purchase the song because they like it. While two people said they would purchase a certain single/album because it’s new an unique, this result is okay for us as the song may or may not be considered new and unique.

All twelve people who answered our survey said yes, the would purchase/download this single. This is a very good result for us as we have created a music video that has added value to the song, which will increase the revenue for the song. Hopefully this in turn will increase the popularity of the band.

Eleven of the people who replied to the survey answered yes, this is a good result as a lot of time and effort was put into making the music video. One person answered no, thinking back I should have put a comment box in the survey so this person could say why they don’t think the video matches the song.

All twelve of the people who replied to our survey said that they liked the music video. This is a very good result for us as it shows that even those who were most interested in music genre’s such as rock, classical and R’n’B, still like music from other genre’s even though it’s not their type of music.

This was the final question we asked our audience, with five people saying the digipak and advert were very good, another five saying that it was good and two people saying it was okay. Again this is a very good result for us as a lot of time and effort was put into both the digipak and advert.
