How do we use Census data? • Distribute funding to tribal, state and local governments. • Redistrict of state legislative districts. • Forecast future transportation needs for all segments of the population. • Determine areas eligible for housing assistance and rehabilitation loans.• Assist federal, tribal, state and local governments in planning and

implementing programs, services and emergency response. • Design facilities for people with disabilities, the elderly and children. • Redistrict for new City Council districts.

What information is collected? • Number of people at address • Any additional people living or staying there • Own or rent• Phone number • Information for each person living in the residence

• Sex• Age• Race• Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin

Keeping Census data confidential: • All responses to Census Bureau surveys and censuses are confidential

and protected under Title 13 of the U.S. Code. • Personal information will never be shared with immigration enforcement

agencies, law enforcement agencies or allow it to be used to determine eligibility for government benefits.

• Results are reported in statistical format only.

• Census workers swear a lifetime oath to protect respondent data.

December Tarrant County Voter Registrar prints voter registration cards with information about new Council districts.

Mid-July 2022: 180 days before qualifying begins for May 2023 municipal election

Deadline for candidates to establish residency within Council districts that they wish to represent.

Mid-January to mid-February 2023 Candidates qualify for 2023 municipal election.May 2023 City conducts 2023 election.
