Dear Friends,
As the Director of Athletics at the United States Military Academy,
I’m grateful for the honor and privilege to continue the tradition
of excellence here at West Point. Since my arrival last summer,
I’ve been inspired by the relentless pursuit of excellence
displayed by our outstanding cadet-athletes, coaches, staff
and administrators. and administrators.
Every day, our cadet-athletes pursue their mission to become
commissioned leaders of character committed to the values of
Duty, Honor, Country. It is our mission to ensure Army West Point
Athletics has the resources to sustain and improve the cadet-ath-
lete experience as we continue to maximize our efforts to develop
the future leaders of our nation.
Before we look ahead to what’s in front of us in 2020, I’d be
remiss if I didn’t recognize some of our extraordinary achieve-
ments from 2019. In the classroom, four cadets were recognized
as Patriot League Scholar Athletes of the Year with ten earning
Patriot League First-Team Academic All-American recognition.
Upon the fields of friendly strife, we watched five teams claim
Patriot League Championships and eleven individuals compete in
NCAA championships. Within the Corps, four cadet-athletes were
chosen to serve in leadership positions. A more detailed list of
these achievements can be found on page four.
It is the people that set West Point apart from others and without
you, none of these achievements would be possible. Your belief in
our mission and investment in our cadet-athletes has led us to
new heights. In 2019, we achieved record highs in raising over
$8.3 million from 6,130 generous donors.
In 2020, we’ll take on the most ambitious fundraising project in
the history of the United States Military Academy. The Michie
Stadium Preservation Project will ensure the history and tradition Stadium Preservation Project will ensure the history and tradition
of Michie Stadium carries on for generations to come. As we chart
our path forward with Michie Stadium we cannot ignore the life
blood of our program, the annual fund.
With your continued support and our cadet-athletes relentless
pursuit of excellence, we will continue to succeed as leaders in
the Corps, in the classroom and upon the fields of friendly strife.
On behalf of our more than 1,000 outstanding cadet-athletes On behalf of our more than 1,000 outstanding cadet-athletes
thank you to all that have continued to invest so much.
I look forward to getting to know all of you as we embark on this
journey together!
Go Army!
