We took one-and-a-half years, surveying 360 people all over the world to quantify the most pleasing tactile feel, then created the perfect materials to match it. Also, the large rear gate opens to a flat cargo area—even with the third row folded down—that is free from encumbrance and makes loading and unloading simple and easy.

PREMIUM SECOND ROW There is no coach class in an Infiniti QX80. The seats in the second row conform to the same exceptional standards as the front seats. The upper and lower body of the QX80 direct the flow of air over, around and under the vehicle to minimize the pressure under the car and the “suction” effect over it, achieving zero-lift at the front and rear. Reducing the effects of wind turbulence at higher speeds leaves you feeling more tightly in control and in touch with the road surface.

TAKE IT WITH YOU Along with an impressive 8,500-pound towing capacity,8 the QX80 offers you an extra dose of confidence and control with just the push of a button. Engage the Tow Mode and the tuning of the engine adjusts to draw out more pulling power. It also adjusts the transmission for shifts that accommodate your heavy load.

HOLD THE ROAD As driving conditions change, the All-Mode AWD®1 system is ready. Set it to AUTO and the system continually adjusts the amount of power distributed between the front and rear wheels for enhanced control. If any wheel should slip, the Traction Control System helps redirect power towards the wheels with traction. The system also has settings for 2WD, 4WD High and 4WD Low for times when you need high traction, like in loose terrain or on steep inclines.

RISE ABOVE You have a deep thirst for adventure, and that may take you to some out-of-the-way places. But with 9.2 inches of ground clearance, the QX80 gives you the confidence to tackle rough roads, ruts, potholes and other obstacles that stand in your way. POWERFUL PLAYER The most formidable engine Infiniti has ever built, the QX80’s heavy-duty, reinforced 5.6-liter V8 delivers. It produces a stirring 400 horsepower—you’ll take on vir tually every driving scenario with smooth confidence. It also boasts 413 lb-ft of torque, a torrent of pulling power that helps it achieve an 8,500-pound towing capacity.8 Engineering with Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL®) technology, it’s also tuned to help maximize fuel efficiency.

BETTER CORNERING AND COMFORT Infiniti engineers complemented the power and size of the Infiniti QX80 with the advanced Hydraulic Body Motion Control1 system. STRONGER AND LIGHTER Ultra high-strength steel is used to help enhance your safety in the case of a collision. The unique process used to create this material can give it more than twice the tensile strength of conventional steel. Not only does this ultra-strong material add to the vehicle’s resiliency, it allows us to make the vehicle lighter overall.

MAINTAINING YOUR LANE The Lane Departure Prevention System1,5 uses a camera to watch for departure from the traveling lane when you haven’t signaled, and audibly warns you if it’s detected. Then, if the drift continues, the system lightly applies selected brakes help to ease your vehicle back into the travel lane. But you never give up control. It’s designed to assist, not override.

PREPARED TO PROTECT Under certain braking conditions or when the Intelligent Brake Assist1,13 system is activated without brake pedal input, the Front-seat Pre-Crash Seat Belts1 automatically tighten the front seat belts—helping restrain you and helping to maximize the effectiveness of the other occupant protection devices such as air bags.

ENHANCED PROTECTION In the event of a collision, dual-stage front supplemental air bags of the Infiniti Advanced Air Bag System adjusts inflation rates based on the severity of the crash and seat belt usage. Also featured are front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor.17

SENSES WHERE YOU CAN’T SEE The Blind Spot Intervention®1,12 System uses sensors to help alert you to a vehicle detected entering the blind spot area in an adjacent lane and helps you avoid it. First, the warning light illuminates. Then, if you begin moving toward the occupied lane, a warning sounds. The system will even apply opposite side brakes to help you guide your vehicle back toward the center of your current driving lane.

ALWAYS LOOKING FOR DANGER Intelligent Brake Assist1,13 with Forward Emergency Braking1,14 and Predictive Forward Collision Warning1,15 uses sensors to continuously monitor and analyze the relative velocity and distance of not only the vehicle directly ahead of you, but of the vehicle in front of that as well. If your closing speed on either exceeds safe limits, you will be alerted and the brakes will be applied if the driver fails to decelerate the vehicle.

REVERSE WITH GREATER CONFIDENCE Backup Collision Intervention1,16 employs an advanced set of sensors to help detect vehicles approaching from either side as you back up. If a vehicle is detected, the system alerts you—first, a warning light appears, then an audible alarm sounds, followed by gas pedal-force feedback. The system can even intervene by automatically engaging the brakes to help avoid a collision.

BETTER STABILITY WHILE STOPPING Electronic Brake force Distribution adjusts the amount of brake force applied to the front and rear wheels for improved braking performance. It not only helps the brakes wear more evenly, it reduces front-end “dive” during heavy braking, helping increase the directional stability of your vehicle. The system also detects vehicle-load conditions, and distributes additional brake pressure to the rear brakes as needed.
