SNA Member Awards
SNA celebrates members who work every day to ensure well‐nourished students across the country are prepared for success! For the 2014‐15 awards and beyond, the SNA Awards Program has been overhauled to make the nomination and judging processes easier to understand, more inviting to members to participate, and standard among the awards for consistency and clarity. The names of the awards have all changed, as well as the nomination forms. There are SNA awards to recognize every member type in SNA:
Employee of the Year Award (previously the Heart of the Program Award)
Manager of the Year Award, in Honor of Louise Sublette*
Director of the Year Award (previously the Outstanding Director of the Year Award) *It’s important to note that while the previous award for managers (the Louise Sublette Award of Excellence in School Nutrition) was a project‐based award, the Manager of the Year Award, in Honor of Louise Sublette, is now a career‐based award to provide consistency among the awards for different member types. All nominations are due to the State President on March 1st of each year. Nomination forms can be found online at www.schoolnutrition.org/awards or at the back of this handbook. Individuals may be nominated by peers, staff, colleagues, or supervisors for these awards. All nominees must be SNA members who hold a SNA Certificate in School Nutrition or the SNS Credential throughout the entire awards nomination and judging process. Self‐nominations will not be accepted for any SNA member awards. Specific requirements and judging criteria vary by award and can be found in this handbook and online at www.schoolnutrition.org/awards. SNA award winners are recognized at the SNA Awards Ceremony at SNA’s Annual National Conference (ANC) each year. Award winners will receive the prizes below:
State winners will receive a certificate and ribbon.
Regional winners will receive a pin, certificate, and $50.
National winners will receive a plaque and an all‐expense paid trip to ANC, up to $1,000. Expenses include ANC registration, airfare, ground transportation, and lodging.
Nominate an employee, manager, and/or director you know to be recognized for all of their great contributions!
