The latest rotomolding technology will be applied to the ARCHBEACON concept that successfully is now widely utilized for the safe approach to harbors suffering from background city lights.

ERSAI - SAIPEMTwo major contracts have been awarded to Floatex totaling a supply of over 6000 sea line deployment floats each with minimum buoyancy of 1 ton and capable to resist a water depth of 10 meters.The whole supply will be achieved in a little more than 3 months’ time.At the time of this magazine issue, more than 4000 floats have been already manufactured and shipped.The whole project concerning

rotomolded shells, expanded material, filling and testing, has been totally carried out in house facilities. To manufacture the floating elements 10 molds and more than 200 filling counter molds have been utilized granting a production ratio of about 120 floats a day. The whole process absorbs only 1/3 of Floatex production capacity, leaving enough production capacity to perform daily business.

DEEP WATER FLOATS

Floatex is a worldwide leading company manufacturing a variety of mooring buoys from C.B.M. (Conventional Buoy Mooring system) to small private yacht buoys, from surface to deep water midline buoys. Floatex is capable to offer the widest range of floating mooring buoys and accessories. Just to mention only a couple of 2014 projects, Floatex delivered 3 mooring buoys equipped with quick release mooring hooks to a French company to be installed in France.

Moreover quite a number of new model MMB 4314 mooring buoys equipped with 60 tons hooks have been supplied to the Italian Coast Guard to be installed in Messina, Naples and Palermo harbors.

The well-known robustness and versatility, low maintenance and of course the special attention to the environmental friendly impact of the materials utilized for the production of mooring buoys, are kept in high value by all our appreciated customers.

Floatex has the widest range in the word of deep water floats for offshore charge and discharge rubber hoses. Since 1976 Floatex floats have been working all over the

world and we are proud of the extremely high customers appreciation achieved in these products. In fact 3 different models in almost all sizes are available.

Thanks to Floatex Nederland BV strategically located in Alblasserdam The Netherland, in the heart of European Oil and Gas, but especially, dredging business center of activities, Floatex has continued developing the concept of rotomoulded floats as well as other important accessories like bow coupling floats for the dredging industry.

Fully in respect with the latest strict environmental European rules, Floatex has further developed the concept of ‘’ecofriendly’’ recyclable floats.

With the new version ‘’heavy duty’’ the life of the float shells has been increased to an unexpected level and on site trials are still performing, and results are extremely encouraging.Floatex Nederland strategic base for sales, and of course after sales service, with qualified and technically prepared personnel, plays a major role in the new organization strategy of Floatex Italy.Whole new line of dredging floats will be soon available, completing the already existing wide one.

Since the late 80ties Floatex has developed several types of floats for aquaculture. Thousands of these floats are used all over Europe and in all weather conditions and they participate to grant the production of mussels in the Mediterranean sea, as well as North sea and Atlantic Ocean.

Floating fish cages for tuna and a lot of sea fish species are

performing since years and, of course, all these fish Farms are also duly visually protected with Floatex Aids to navigation buoys.

Oil spill boom, flange protector, piggy back, umbilical retainers, special automotive parts and a lot of other products are developed and manufactured in Floatex premises.

40 years of experience in rotomolding, injection, blow molding, casting, pouring and elastomer spraying is provided to satisfy customer demand.

A.to.N. IN COOPERATION WITH TIDELAND

Floatex strong cooperation with Tideland Signal has achieved important projects.Thanks to the synergy with Tideland Signal and his worldwide distribution organization, Floatex has been able to concentrate more efforts in the Research and Development. Following the latest environmental regulation, Floatex developed a new line of colored polyethylene to perfectly match the IALA rules and recommendations.

“Ecofriendly” concept now is widely introduced and fully applied in the engineering production of all newly designed floatation Aids to Navigation. Of course all the existing wide

range of floating aids, buoys and beacons have been duly upgraded to follow the latest environmental and safety rules.

Quite a number of environ-mental / weather station and other data conventional buoys, and especially articulated bea-cons, have been manufactured and successfully installed all around the Mediterranean area.

Thanks to the cooperation with Tideland Signal, the con-cept of articulated beacon, has reached a significant world-wide interest, and an interest-ing number of articulated bea-cons have been deployed in Australia to withstand cyclonic sea conditions.

ARCHBEACONFloatex is strongly cooperating with Archbeacon, a Spanish based Company who holds the international patent of an arch equipped with a circular sequence of lights to be installed at port entrances suffering from background city lights. In the aim to apply the later rotomoulding technology, Floatex in cooperation with Archbeacon, will be manufacturing 2 new sets of molds for the arch.

To produce the ‘’big one’’ of 12 mt. length and 6 mt. height and a smaller versions of 6 mt length by 3 mt. height for smaller harbors.

Both units will be easy to be assembled on site, light weight, and basically structurally maintenance free. Colors of course will be in accordance to the restrictive internationally recognized IALA rules and recommendations.
