Eschatological Truth Jesus Is Coming Back And When He Comes He Will JUDGE The World “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” Rev 22:11-13 Heaven is So Much BETTER Than Hell The Reason Heaven Is So much Better Is Because Of The WRATH Of God After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are his judgments. Rev19:1-2 The Great White Throne Judgment Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life.12 The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:11-15 Jesus Teaches Us That: 1. Hell Is REAL Place Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 2. Hell Is A Place Of ETERNAL Punishment “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25:46 3. Hell Is A Place Of CONCIOUS Awareness So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ Luke 16:24 “Hell Is A Freely Chosen Identity Based On Something Else Apart From God.” ~Timothy Keller~ The Cross Teaches Us That: 1. The Cross Teaches Us That:

1. Jesus Believed That God’s WRATH Was Coming But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! Rom 5:8-9

2. There Is No Other way To God Except THROUGH Jesus “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.” Matthew 27:39

3. Hell Is AVOIDABLE

"In the long run the answer to all those who object to the doctrine of Hell is itself a question: 'What are you asking God to

do?' To wipe out your past sins, and at all costs, to give you a fresh start, smoothing every difficulty and offering every miraculous help? But He has done so, on Calvary. To forgive you? But you do not seek to be forgiven. To leave you alone?

Alas, I am afraid that is what he does." ~C.S. Lewis ~ Life Group Discussion Questions: Waipuna Chapel values authentic community expressed In Life Groups. Like to join a group check out our directory at www.waipunachapel.com
