KellyFitness Magazines

The genre of Fitness is what catches my eye because I find the information interesting due to my hobby in health.

The publication that caught my eye most is Men’s Fitness. The articles on the magazine are appealing to the subject of Fitness, which interests me.

The October 2013 edition central image was the best because it shows Hugh Jackman’s humongous tricep, which makes people who want to get bigger have interest in the magazine.

All of the magazines seemed to have the same style. The title is usually red or blue, and the background is white, with the articles all being black, blue, or red.

The April 2013 edition had the best articles because it contained eye-popping typography like “GET BIG” in bold black typography.

Most of these magazines have similar table of contents, but the one I found most appealing was also the April 2013 edition because it contains Nutrition, Workouts, Supplement plans, and facts to help you become healthier.

The April 2013 also had the best articles because it went straight to the point of how to get bigger, which appeals to most males in the gym.

I learned from my visit that every magazine contains similar information about nutrition and workouts, but some of them contain many ads for new supplements coming around.

The articles mostly caught my eye. Some of the articles are about nutrition and meal plans.

Learning from this visit, I need to include many articles of supplementation, secrets, and recreate the format of these particular magazines in order to make the magazine look like a legitimate fitness magazine.

Most Inspirational Magazine

This edition of Men’s Fitness is most inspirational because it contains secrets and diets to losing weight. It also includes articles like “10% more muscle in 50% less time” which is interesting to teens trying to gain muscle.

The magazine is about nutrition, gaining muscle, supplementing, proper work outs, and also an article on celebrity training to look good.

The target audience is for males 16-40 who are trying to get physically fit.

“10% more muscle in 50% less time.” “Lose your gut.” “Full body shreds.”

What is Men’s Fitness About?

Page 18: 2 kemp kelly_mensfitness

The central images are always one person somewhat flexing in a mid shot to show off their physique. They’re usually fit celebrities.

The photos generally are taken in front of a white, blank background.

The masthead is usually red or blue, but sometimes it varies. The layout is always the same. It always contains general articles of staying in shape.

From what I saw in the table of contents, most of them have a lot of white space and the font is Times New Roman. The typography is usually black.

Both magazines show types of fitness/excerize. The first one shows a guy running. The second one shows a guy doing workouts to strengthen his core. It seems the style is somewhat similar. They both show an ample of images showing their excersize. The articles both explain what is going on in the images.
