DimensioningA suitable actuator (self-acting thermostats and electrical actuators) which may be applied for specificregulation will be chosen by BESI on basis of your specific design conditions. Please give the following data:
• Dp Port 2 3• working pressure• voltage• frequency
DesignThe valve components and dimensions including technical data are according to the specific data sheet.
Definition of Kvs valueThe Kvs value is defined at the water flow rate in m3/h through the fully opened valve ports at a constantdifferential pressure of ∆pV of 1 bar.
MountingIn order to reduce wear and tear of the valves, especially the larger ones should be mounted with verticalspindles. The mounting situation should be as much as possible free of vibrations. It is recommended toinstall a strainer in front of the regulating valve.

Valve AuthorityThe ratio of pressure drop across the valvewhen fully open to that across thecomplete circuit is termed the 'ValveAuthority' (N) and is expressed as:
WhereN = Valve AuthorityP1 = Pressure drop across fully open valveP2 = Pressure drop across remainder of circuit
The left diagrams illustrate P1 and P2more fully.Valve Authority is a means of selecting avalve size on a water system with dueregard to economic viability and goodcontrol. When selecting a valve size, the ValveAuthority should be between 0.2 and 0.5(and preferably 0.5). This will ensure thateach small valve movement will influencesome authority over the flow whithoutcreating excessive increase in costs forpumping power.Valve Authority will always relate to thecircuit which has a varying flow rate.

3 way regulating valvesThree way regulating valves typeM3RV are designed for regulatingwater, lubricant oil, and other liquidmedia. The valves can be mounted in thepipe system as mixing as well asdiverting valve.
